"Holy shit! They actually embezzled so much money. That's really despicable!"
"These two people are both Mr. Stutton and Mr. Gallant's people. They're just minor executives, so there must be bigger fish."
"Are these accusations really true? I mean, these two have stolen five million dollars! Five million dollars, I say!"
Ignoring the discussions swirling around him, Nolan continued, "Mason Greene—embezzled over eight million dollars. Caleb Gallant—embezzled over six million dollars. Ryan Stutton—embezzled over three million dollars."
Nolan read out the names on the list one by one, revealing that nearly every high-ranking person in the village and in business had a share.
At this point, both Ben and Stefan could no longer hold their composure.
"Enough, Nolan! You're slandering us. Do you have any evidence?"
"You're just making baseless accusations and causing chaos! It's utterly outrageous!"
Looking at Ben and Stefan, Nolan calmly replied, "If I didn't have evidence, would I dare to speak so recklessly? You want evidence? That's easily done."
Nolan calmly took out a USB drive and said, "This USB drive contains detailed records of everyone. Just check it, and you'll see I'm telling the truth."
Ben and Stefan's eyes turned red with anger. Though their names hadn't been called yet, they knew that they were next. To make matters worse, some of their relatives had already been mentioned by Nolan.
Nolan looked at their bloodshot eyes and gently shook his head. "Don't bother trying to grab the USB drive. Even if I hand it to you, there's a backup. Besides, do you even think you can successfully take this USB drive away from me?"
Sitting on the stage, Wayne opened his mouth as if to speak. However, he ultimately remained silent, his expression darkening significantly. He never imagined that Tyler and Sharon would collude with each other to embezzle money that rightfully belonged to his family.
Yet, despite their actions, they continued to act as if they were destitute, even borrowing money from Wayne to build a house. Meanwhile, Melody needed medication for her illness, and they hadn't contributed a single cent.
How could Wayne have protected such people? Just the thought of it all filled Wayne with rage. At that moment, he finally understood why Nolan was so furious and so determined to teach them a lesson.
Just then, Stefan suddenly laughed and looked at Nolan with a smirk. "Nolan, so what if all of this is true? Who built the roads in the villages? We did. Who gave the villagers their jobs? We did. Without us, they'd still be struggling.
"We were the ones who ensured their basic needs were met. We were the ones who made them prosperous. So, tell me, what exactly did we do wrong? And besides, if you add up the money any of the villagers received, it's probably more than your entire investment.
"Plus, why are you still so upset when your own brother-in-law and sister-in-law have pocketed millions? With just a few hundred thousand dollars invested, you've already gained so much. So, what's all the fuss about?"
