The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 450

The mention of "Mr. Greene" instantly cleared any doubts in Ben and the others' minds. Though there were many people with the last name Greene present today, only a handful could be addressed with such respect.

Hoover, stepping forward with a smile, said, "My grandpa is waiting for you all on the stage. Please, follow us."

David and the guests he came with were taken aback. It wasn't Hoover's somewhat arrogant tone that surprised them, but the mention of his grandpa. When did Nolan become so old—old enough to have a grandson of Hoover's age?

Of course, with Nolan's status and position, it was undeniable that many would have wished to be his grandchild, but few could ever dream of it. Still, the truth remained.

"Your grandpa?" repeated David skeptically. He carefully assessed the young man before him, as though doubting the authenticity of his claim.

At that moment, Ben quickly stepped forward to clarify. "There's no mistake, Mr. Perez. This young man here is Hoover Greene, the grandson of Mr. Greene Senior. There's absolutely no question about it."

David and his companies exchanged puzzled glances, their expressions growing more uncertain.

"The Mr. Greene I'm referring to isn't even 30 years old, so how could he already have a grandson?"

The words left everyone present utterly stunned. Not even 30 years old? Harold was well into his 80s—nowhere close to 30.

Hoover's face darkened. He looked at David and uttered coldly, "Mr. Perez, surely you're joking? If so, this joke isn't funny in the slightest."

David and his fellow executives were titans in their respective fields, so they thought a young upstart like Hoover had no grounds to talk about what he did or didn't like in their presence.

The name "Nolan", once relatively unfamiliar to most of them, now felt etched into their minds. After all, Nolan had just caused a scene on stage, only to be unceremoniously driven off.

David looked at Ben and nodded firmly. "We wouldn't dare speak Mr. Greene's name so casually. But yes, we are here to see Mr. Nolan Greene. Mr. Stutton, could you kindly tell us where he is? We need to pay our respects to him."

Left without a choice, Ben pointed toward the corner where Nolan was. Even then, he asked skeptically, "Are you absolutely sure it's him you're looking for?"

But David and the others had already spotted Nolan. Their faces lit up with delight, and they broke into a brisk jog toward him.

"Mr. Greene, our apologies for coming unannounced. We hope we haven't offended you by doing so."
