What a vicious oath. Even saying that one would be struck by lightning and die a miserable death. There was so little faith in Nolan becoming a big shot.
Nolan smiled and nodded. "Okay, Mr. Weiss. I just hope you don't get struck by lightning and meet a miserable end. We'll see each other later."
After saying that, Nolan turned to Smitty and the others with a nonchalant look. "We're at the hotel now. Do you still want to follow me inside? Otherwise, does it not count as completing the task?
George saw Smitty and the others as people who spied on Nolan and believed they had no reason to show him any respect. Smitty and the others were now fully aware of how genuinely terrifying Nolan could be.
Additionally, Nolan hinted that there could be more to the story and potential changes to come. Hadn't Scarlet already gone to save Archie?
"No, no, Mr. Greene. We will do whatever you ask of us. If you want us to come with you, we will come with you. But if not, we will wait outside."
This attitude made George stunned for a moment. Wasn't this supposed to be cocky? At the very least, there had been no need to consider Nolan's opinions. But now, what was going on?
Nolan, however, simply stated in a disinterested tone, "You guys can wait outside. When Mr. Baxter arrives, send him in."
Upon hearing this, Smitty quickly nodded and replied with a smile, "Absolutely. Don't worry."
Nolan gave a slight nod before striding into the hotel lobby, not even sparing a glance at George.
George's mind was in utter confusion as he looked at Smitty and the others. He questioned, "Do you all truly know who you're speaking to?"
George spoke through gritted teeth. "It's true, I am Mr. Weiss, but above all, I am Audrey's father. Do you know who my daughter is currently dating?
"It's Shaun Baxter of the Baxter family, the current head of the household. How dare you speak to me with such attitude? Are you not afraid that I will tell on you all?
"Furthermore, Mr. Shaun holds a strong dislike for Nolan. However, you all are so respectful. This is derelict in your duties. If Mr. Shaun finds out, he will not spare you guys."
Upon hearing this, Smitty sneered and said, "Are you done? If you're done, we're leaving. I'm not keen on standing next to you and risking getting struck by lightning!"
After saying that, Smitty marched his men back to his car without even glancing at George, who was seething with rage. The phrase "struck by lightning" perfectly summed up the issue, but sadly, George couldn't understand it.
