Grace waited outside the operation room.' Need I call Mckenzie and tell her Charlie’s condition?'
Grace thought about it and gave up. They were abroad. If she called Mckenzie and told her Charlie's condition, Mckenzie would be anxious.
The operation door wasn't opened until 8 p.m.
When the attending doctor walked out and took off the mask, Grace walked towards him in heels.
The doctor shook his head and said, "He has stomach disorders all the time. What was worse, he had only eaten instant noodles in the past four days. He was close to death!"
Hearing that, Grace frowned and asked, " How is he?"
"The operation is successful, but his stomach is fragile. He needs to pay attention to his health. Otherwise, his condition will be worse."
Charlie was sent to a general ward. Grace sat beside the window. Charlie lay on the bed. He was still in a coma.
One or two hours had passed by.
Finally, Charlie woke up and opened his eyes slowly.
Grace's gaze became sharp. She breathed heavily and said, "You only ate instant noodles in the past four days? Why didn't you die in the villa?"
Charlie was weak. His lips looked pale. He was speechless with weakness and coughed feebly.
Grace said, "If you have a death wish, go back to Santabaca. Do not stay here in case your mother thinks that I cause your death.
He bore all blame and didn't refute it. He lay on the bed quietly.
Suddenly, Grace ran out of her energy.
Looking at the cautious Charlie, she didn't know what she could say and didn’t want to scold him anymore.
It was quiet in the ward again. He didn't eat meals these days and had an operation just now. He said in a hoarse voice, "I'm sorry...”
Grace raised her hand to support her forehead and said, "It's your life. You don't need to say sorry to me."
"I'm sorry..." Charlie's eyes were filled with hope. "I stayed in the operation room for so long. Were you worried about me?" Grace said decisively, "No, not at all!"
