The old lady sprouts a cautious look at us, especially Riya who was about to give it away that, we weren't married to each other.

After a long scan, she lets us in and ushered us to her visitor's room, Riya soared her eyes round before, receding her words to me.

"Can you kindly explain, what the heck you said, a while ago? Who is married to whom? Huh!". A funny look draped over her face, smurding a weak smile on mine, "aww! Don't worry sweetheart, it was only a way to obtain a roof over our heads, so don't worry that little brain of yours!".

I veered back to leave but halted when I noticed she held me back, " little brain of mine? See who's talking, the same person who keeps pretending, he doesn't feel anything nor get influenced by anyone, why don't you tell me! Mr. Salem Baltimore, who are you?".

I gently pulled my hands from her, as she fiddles for my response, "your highness, I am waiting?" She said to me.

"Waiting for what? I don't think I have any explanation for you and if you're still mad because of my words the other time, then be my guest and keep acting like a child".

I smirked and left her startled.

I know that I keep hurting Riya, however, it is the only way to keep her safe.

THE FOLLOWING DAY

I couldn't get myself to sleep, Riya gets up from bed thereafter.

"Good morning" she greets and walked into the bathroom, I glued my eyes and wondered, what's going on with her, did my words hurt her to a point that, her greetings to me, was as cold as ice.

A few hours later, we both walked down and thanked the old lady for her aid to us, we went out and thankfully got a taxi to take us home.

After a long drive, we finally got home, the cab stopped at the entrance of the mansion, from the far distance we obtained Elena's aggressive words, as swung close to the front door.

Riya strolled in, obtaining the whole family's attention and I followed behind.

Elena turns and draped a startled look on her face, she runs over and hugged Riya, repaying her eyes to me.

"How are you Salem? How did you escape, I was so worried about you? Hope you are okay?". She gets emotional.

"I'm fine ma'am,". I replied.

"That's good, why don't you go to your room and freshen up".

She ordered and I fled heading to my bedroom.

After a while, Elena came to visit me, she walks in without knocking, attaining my attention.

"Yeah, aunt, did you need anything?" I asked.

"No! I just want to say thank you for taking good care of my daughter, she's the only one I have since, the untimely demise of my husband and son".

Elena announced.

My mom can't stop lying can she?.

Yes, it was my duty to save Riya, but I hope I never get to go on another kidnapped journey with her.

Riya runs to her aid, yet the effect of the alcohol has taken a toll on her sanity, Elena nudged her away and walked over to the podium.

Behind me, I could hear guests soliloquizing to themselves, they said and I quote," as Elena Khan went mad, what's wrong with her?".

It pleases me to listen to such words. And I know the press would also have a say in this, which will not be pleasant at all.

Methane walks out from behind and saw Elena In such a mood, she turns her eyes and shoots me a devious smile.

Something tells me that the real reason for Elena being in this state, as something to do with methane drew, that devious smile says it all.

Riya called out for help, as they drunk Elena Khan to her room.

I veered back to leave as well and walked in on the Riya, being cozy with another guy, she giggled at his every word and when she falls her eyes on me, she smirked, somehow this act of hers will eventually blow up in her face and I won't be there to help her, urgh.

I went further away and past Elena's room, she glances through the window wearing a sad look on her face, I wonder what dramatic lines, she had in store.

"Ma'am, why are you still awake? You should be sleeping?".

Elena turns and saw me standing behind, she moves closer and placed her hands on my face, and said"how can I sleep when I am so happy for all I have achieved in a short amount of time, it's awesome to have the whole world bow down to you, do you understand?, now that the entire world dances to the tunes of Elena Khan, I am unstoppable, I fear no one and not God".

(She staggers while saying that)
