The Million-Dollar Heart (Percival and Vivienne) novel Chapter 1184

Logan hastily ushered the interns out of the office, their words leaving him deep in thought.

Could Faye really have seen it?

To confirm his suspicions, Logan quickly shot Faye a message.

"How's your day going?"

The message seemed to disappear into the void, with no reply coming for a long time.

Maybe she's still sleeping?

Puzzled, Logan started his shift, checking his phone so often that even the doctor on duty with him couldn't resist teasing him.

"Dr. Logan, waiting for a message from your girlfriend?"

Logan looked up, meeting his colleague's teasing gaze. "With the way you've been glued to your phone, checking it every minute for the past half-hour, who else could it be but a girlfriend?"

Logan thought his colleague's guess wasn't far off but clarified anyway, "Not exactly a girlfriend, but I'm working on it."

The doctor, caught off guard by Logan's admission, wondered if he had a knack for guessing these things.

After his shift, Logan still hadn't received a message from Faye, even as he headed home.

Just when Logan began to worry something might have happened to her, a call from an unknown number came through. Intuition told him it had to do with Faye, so he answered immediately.

"Doreen's voice came through. "Is this Logan?"

"It's me." Logan recognized Doreen's voice instantly. "Is there something you need?"

"Oh, you with your formalities," Doreen laughed, glancing at Faye, who had been sulking all day on the couch. "I mentioned before about inviting you for dinner, right? We heard about the legal matter, and thank you so much for..."

Logan's mind raced, focusing solely on one thought: "Faye has seen the message!"

So that was why she hadn't replied?

It suddenly made sense.

"How about it, Logan? How about we meet at that diner not too far from you? Faye mentioned you might be off tomorrow?" Doreen browsed through her list of restaurants.

Snapping back to reality, Logan quickly responded, "Yes, I'm free tomorrow."

"Great, we'll see you there for dinner."

Curiosity got the better of them, and they decided to follow, despite Gemma's reservations about getting caught by Logan again.

Inside the store, Logan sought a casual yet elegant suit for the dinner, not too formal but appropriate.

A sales associate led him to a selection of suits, perfect for various occasions. Logan chose a simple black suit, overlooking more eye-catching options, puzzling the onlooking interns.

Their whispered speculations and exchanged glances went unnoticed as Logan focused on preparing for the evening, eager to make a good impression and perhaps unravel the mystery behind Faye's silence.

Until Logan, clutching a bundle of clothes, disappeared into the changing room, Gemma sauntered over to the girl with glasses. "You think Logan's taste is a bit off too, huh?"

The girl simply nodded, an amused twinkle in her eye. "Today has certainly been an eye-opener."

Their chatter was light and animated when a sales assistant noticed them and quickly approached. "Ladies, can I assist you with anything?"

Gemma waved her off with a polite smile. "We're just browsing, thanks. We'll call you if we need anything."

The sales assistant smiled graciously and took her leave.

At that moment, Logan emerged from the changing room, capturing everyone's attention. Dressed in what was fundamentally a basic black suit, Logan somehow elevated it, exuding an air of sophistication. Moreover, the addition of gold-rimmed glasses transformed him from casual to debonair with an unexpected edge!
