Since the place was a bit isolated there was hardly anyone who looked toward Gu Jin or went near her to inquire if she was alright.
It was the month of July and the atmosphere was somewhat gloomy since it was a rainy season.
Gu Jin looked at the clouds and in a soft voice she said,
"You will cover it for me, right?"
No one responded to her.
However, after 5 minutes or so, rain began to drizzle lightly, as if in response to Gu Jin’s words.
The soft patter of raindrops against the ground provided a soothing backdrop to her thoughts.
As the rain intensified, Gu Jin closed her eyes and let the cool droplets wash over her.
"No...no... don’t do it! Don’t!" Gu Jin murmured.
A few flashbacks appeared in her mind,
"Ma’am trust me, everything will go well." A flattering voice said.
"Hahah! Did you really think that I would be loyal to an 8-year-old like you?" The same voice said.
"Ma’am I will stay by your side, forever." A sweet voice said.
"I...I...am...m...sor...rry....I...can’...t...sta...y...by...you...r....si..de...any...more..." The same sweet voice said.
"She will die within a few days without her parents." An arrogant voice said.
"Hmph! I heard that her parents died in a car accident while saving her. What a beast! Now she is all alone, servers her right!"
"Her parents could have been saved if she wasn’t there."
"What a monstrous child! In the next life, she will definitely be an orphan!"
In between those voices, a soft voice said,
"Jin, you have to live! Even if we die, promise me you will live well!"
Gu Jin covered her face and closed her eyes.
Like a pitiful animal, she stayed in one corner.
Even though those voices were being replayed in her ears time and time again, her eyes remained empty.
A strange kind of hollowness was present in her eyes.
When the rain stopped Gu Jin finally blinked and stood up.
She started walking forward as if she wasn’t the person who looked so vulnerable a moment ago.
Reaching her apartment, Gu Jin changed into a set of clean clothes and entered her space to cultivate.
Her Dark Fire Element’s Unyi first needs to be disintegrated before she can cast any spells.
Next 3 hours Gu Jin cultivated her Dark Fire Element followed by her plant element and then mana.
She then did some physical training and came out of space.
When she walked into the living room, she saw a parcel in Si Kai’s hand.
"Did you order something?" Gu Jin asked curiously.
Si Kai shook his head and was about to answer when he looked at Gu Jin with doubt.
"What happened?" Gu Jin touched her face suspiciously.
"Sister...you...I feel something is off..." Si Kai said with a bit of uncertainty.
"Maybe because I have become more powerful." Gu Jin said with a smug expression.
She waited for Si Kai to say something savage in return but Si Kai remained silent.
