The Lycan King’s Second Chance Mate (Ashanti) novel Chapter 261

ASHANTI’S POV.

“Did you see how she pushed her? She's so mean!” I hear a female voice whisper from behind.

“The poor girl apologised and even tried to wipe her clothes but look what she did. How can the Moon goddess choose such an evil girl to be our Lycan King's mate?”

“She's vicious!”

All blood dries up in my veins when I look around and see the looks of disapproval on the faces of the people watching the scene. And to make it worse, Alina opens her mouth and start yapping for lies again in a crying voice.

“I know you're upset that I'm pregnant for the Alpha, but you're the one he loves and has chosen to be with. I cannot compete with you for that. So why can't you stop attacking me and this child I'm carrying? I'm pregnant for goodness sake and this baby is innocent. Stop trying to hurt us!”

“Alina I…” I try to speak but my words catch in my throat. I look around, at the people who are now shaking their heads disapprovingly at me. “No. I didn't even push her that hard.” I whip my head in Alina's direction with tear-filled eyes.

“Just evil!” Another comment enters my eyes. I am saved by the arrival of Alpha Reagan.

“What's going on here?” At the sound of his voice, everyone steps away from his path as he walks towards us. I start shaking my head at him and Alina bursts into tears.

“I want to get out of here. Please get me out of here.” I start begging him and he stops in front of me, looking confused and worried.

“What's going on?”

I start shaking my head frantically as I say; “I didn't do it! I swear I didn't do anything!” He steps by my side and we both look down at Alina who's now holding her waist and crying like a child, only to get Alpha Reagan's attention.

“I know I did something wrong, but she didn't have to push me down the way she did. She tried to hurt our baby.” Alina reports and Reagan looks at me. I shake my head with all my might.

“No. That's not what happened. I swear I didn't…”

“Shhhh…” He hushes me. “It's okay. You don't have to explain anything to me. I believe you.” My eyes snap open in surprise. He looks back at Alina who doesn't seem to believe what she just heard.

“Rise up and stop causing a scene.”

“I can't.”

“Guards. Please help her up.” He instructs the guards he arrived with and they help bring Alina back to her feet. Her face is completely drenched with tears, but I can right through them.

“Alpha Reagan, didn't you hear what I said? She pushed me!”

“Yes, Alpha.” A girl confirms Alina's words. We all avert our gazes to her. “I saw it happen.”

“And did I ask you to report anything to me?” The girl nervously shakes her head and looks down.

“No, My Lord.”

Alpha Reagan turns back to Alina.

“If you don't stop this madness right now, I will have you displaced from the high table and put to sit where you really belong.” Alpha Reagan warns in a stern tone and that manages to terrify Alina. She even shrieks.

“This is not fair!” She stomps her feet on the floor and storms away, grumbling and cursing me for attempting to kill her unborn child. The people around are still looking at me like I'm some evil witch, but I don't care.

All that matters is that Alpha Reagan believes me.

God, he has such a charming voice.

“I guess it's time for us to eat our words.”

“It sure is.”

A loud, painful scream cuts through the atmosphere, interrupting our conversation. The smile of my face wipes off and I whip my head in the direction of the sound. Horror fills my entire being when I see that it came from Alina who has a hand on her stomach and is screaming again at the top of her voice.

“Alina!” I call, frightened as I rise from my seat. The entertainers on the stage stop and everyone looks up at the high table.

“Alina!” That's Alpha Reagan. He's on his feet, and two steps later, he's holding Alina who's almost falling to the ground. All the hair on my body stands erect when I see the amount of blood on the chair she was occupying. Alpha Reagan sees it too and his eyes turn blood red.

“Guards!” The walls of the hall vibrate at the sound of his voice. It's a matter of seconds before the guards show up and one of them scoops her into his arms and carries her away. My body starts shaking. My lips start trembling. My heart rate skyrockets.

I feel like I'm going to faint.

The entire hall is in chaos.

“Lock the main door!” An angry man orders from below. We all look down and see an angry looking old man screaming at the top of his lungs. “There's a murderer in here! Lock the main door!”

And that is done the moment the guards accompanying Alina rush out with her.

What the fuck is going on here?
