Chapter317 -End
How time flew. It had been three years.
I never thought I would see Antonio again.
The project Edwin and I studied was a great success. I was given a brand- new identity. When I accepted the award on the stage, I saw Antonio sitting among the crowd.
The world was too small. Despite my efforts, we met again. Antonio had changed a lot.
The past three years seemed to be a blizzard in his eyes, covering Antonio with an icy aura. No longer the successful businessman, Antonio now looked sad with a permanent crease between his brows.
"Aren't you going to say hi? It's said that in the past three years, he kept looking for you like a madman and has traveled across the world. Even I'm moved by his persistence."
I picked up on Edwin's sarcastic tone and chuckled too. "What's the point?"
For people like Antonio, the most valuable things in the world were things they couldn't obtain and things they had lost.
Antonio was a man that had everything normal people wanted. In his mind, he could get everything effortlessly, so he would never learn to cherish things that he already had.
“Alright. No need to waste your energy on people who aren't worth it. Because of your excellent performance in this study, I've filed a promotion report for you. I believe your career is looking bright."
Edwin wanted me to receive the award along with him. But I was used to being low-key. Also, I didn't want Antonio to see me. So, I turned down Edwin's kind offer and stood on the side to applause for him.
However, Antonio saw me nonetheless.
When I was leaving, he passed through the crowd and stopped me. "Grace."
I turned down calmly and looked at Antonio, my gaze cold. "Sir, you have the wrong person."
"No, I won't mistake you for anyone. You're my Grace.
"Grace, I'm sorry. Please come home with me. I promise you that I'll never make you sad again." Men always made promises so easily.
Antonio had promised that there would never be lies or betrayal in our marriage.
He promised that our love would be like a star, unique and eternal. But he had failed to keep any of his promises.
