45,Chapter 545
After Sophie climbed to her feet, she looked down from above at Caleb, who had passed out on the floor. Then, she lifted her foot and slammed it down hard on Calet’s head
Sophie spat, “Stupid man! Go to hell! Your mother, that old hag, is a slut, and so are you. You think you can divorce me? You re delusional From now on, the Marquis’s estate will be under my control”
After venting all her rage on Caleb, Sophie paused, and when she stopped, Caleb left bloodied and unrecognizable, his head a mess of wounds.
Despite this, there was still no sign of him waking up
It was as though he had completely disconnected from the world around him.
And that was exactly the case, because the parasite Sophie had fed into Caleb was capable of controlling and consuming the host’s consciousness.
The longer he stayed unconscious, the faster the parasite would consume him.
Caleb’s body was relatively strong, so according to Sophie’s original plan, the parasite was intended for Adeline.
If everything had gone according to plan, in a month, the parasite would have consumed Adeline’s consciousness entirely, turning her into a puppet for Sophie.
Unfortunately, something had gone wrong, but it wasn’t a big problem.
Although the host had changed, the parasite could still perform its task, though it might take twice as long
Sophie usually wouldn’t wait two months, but since she had just been revived, Rodrigo had said her body was in its weakest state and needed time to recover fully.
Additionally, she needed time to get more familiar with the parasites inside her body before she could truly control them.
That’s right–Sophie’s body was no longer just a normal human body.
It was now a vessel filled with parasites.
But she could still use this vessel, just as easily as she had used her old body.
As long as the sorcerer wasn’t too powerful, no one would discover her secret.
That’s why Sophie chose to lie low in the Marquis’s estate for now. Once she could fully control the parasites, she would be able to kill anyone she wished, including Eliza.
Sophie took a deep breath, tilting her head back, her face covered with a few drops of blood.
Just then, Sophie noticed something. She slowly turned her head toward the doorway and saw a maid standing there, her face filled with shock and fear, staring in disbelief at the scene inside.
The maid stammered, “Murder… she killed… Sophie killed-”
The maid turned to flee, but before she could take more than a few steps, countless insects suddenly surged out of the courtyard, instantly covering her, silencing her with only the sound of painful whimpers.
After a moment, the insects dispersed, leaving only a terrifying white skeleton in the maid’s place.
Appearing in the courtyard were several figures cloaked in black, wearing large hoods–the Soulbind Tribe.
“Didn’t I tell you to be careful? What if someone finds out…”
“What if they find out I’m from the Soulbind Tribe? Then we’re all finished, right? I’ve heard enough of this. I know I need to be cautious, but when people keep pushing me, I can’t just keep swallowing my anger!” Sophie interrupted impatiently.
“And besides, you know this idiot’s identity. If I can take control of Caleb and the entire Marquis’s estate, wouldn’t it make it easier for the Soulbind Tribe to infiltrate Bortenland afterward?”
Her words were indeed quite accurate.
Once they left, Sophie rolled her eyes in annoyance, slammed the door shut with a loud bang, and then completely ignored Caleb lying on the floor, returning to the bed to continue her recovery.
Isabelle’s face darkened as she glared at the insects that tried to approach her, but were pushed back by her disgust. She couldn’t stop herself from gagging.
Damn it, she knew Fletcher was up to no good.
But she never expected that the old man would force her to become one of the Sorceresses.
They called it the Sorceress, but in reality, it was just a puppet he used to control these insects.
That’s right–the true master of these insects wasn’t her; it was Fletcher.
As his biological daughter, Isabelle’s blood, mixed with Fletcher’s Immortality Pills, had created parasites that he could control directly.
Isabelle couldn’t even control these insects, let alone drive them away.
And because they were fed her blood, the insects considered her their mother and always tried to get close to her whenever she fed them.
But to Isabelle, it was utterly revolting.
She wished she could kill these insects, and kill that damn Fletcher.
Just then, the door to the chamber suddenly opened, and an all–too–familiar voice that Isabelle despised came from behind
her.
“Oh? This batch of parasites hatched early? Looks like you’ve been feeding them well. You’re truly my good daughter.” Fletcher walked into the room, glancing around at the situation before smiling.
