The Lady Nun Seeks Justice (Eliza Stonor) novel Chapter 502

502.Chapter 502

With the Prince Regent backing her up, she didn’t need to hold back. Otherwise, that would be a waste of his goodwill. With that thought, Eliza raised her hand without hesitation and delivered a resounding slap to Anthony’s face, who was kneeling before her, held firmly in place by Nolan.

Smack. The sharp crack of her slap echoed through the hall, silencing everyone.

She didn’t hold back in the slightest, not even after Anthony’s earlier threats. The fly sting spread across Anthony’s left cheek instantly, accompanied by a brief wave of dizziness that made his vision blur.

Anthony gritted his teeth, forcing down the bile rising in his throat. It wasn’t the dizziness that made him feel sick; it was the sheer humiliation clawing at his chest.

The burning shame made him clench his fists, desperate to strike back but utterly powerless.

“Is that enough now?” Anthony asked coldly, his voice trembling with suppressed rage as he glared at Eliza.

She shook her head. “No, not nearly enough.” As soon as the words left her lips, her hand rose again without pause, descending with merciless precision.

In front of everyone, slap after slap landed on Anthony’s face, each one louder and more forceful than the last, leaving his face very swollen.

By the time Eliza finally stopped, Anthony was completely dazed. His once–handsome face was now red and grotesquely swollen, with blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

If Gabriel hadn’t stepped in to stop her, Eliza might have continued striking him without end, her fury far from spent. “Enough.” Gabriel stormed forward, shielding Anthony with his arm, his voice brimming with barely contained rage. “If you keep this up, you’re going to kill him.”

As the memories of her old life surged back, a wave of restless anger churned within Eliza.

Towering over Anthony, she jabbed a finger at his face, her gaze cold and mocking. “Why the long face? Smile, okay? What, do you think I didn’t hit you hard enough?”

‘I was already beaten to a pulp–how could I possibly smile? Is Eliza trying to humiliate me with this ridiculous demand?‘ he wondered.

Anthony’s eyes burned with rage as he glared at her, his gaze so fiery it seemed as though it could scorch her on the spot. But it didn’t matter. If he couldn’t laugh, someone else would make sure he did.

Come on, Lord Anthony, crack a smile. Don’t try to make Her Grace angry, okay?” Disguised as a guard, Nolan seemed to be thoroughly enjoying this twisted game. The Prince Regent’s commitment to playing his role was almost absurdly convincing.

Since Anthony refused to laugh, Nolan decided to take matters into his own hands.

Nolan grabbed Anthony’s face and yanked the corners of his mouth upward, forcing out a grotesque, stiff smile that was more grimace than grin. Then, he turned his sparkling eyes toward his Holy Lady, eagerly awaiting her approval.
