The Lady Nun Seeks Justice (Eliza Stonor) novel Chapter 498

498.Chapter 498

In the blink of an eye, the guard standing behind Eliza darted forward, delivering a swift kick that sent Anthony, wheelchair and all, toppling to the ground.

Caught off guard, Anthony crashed to the floor in a humiliating heap. Fury blazing in his eyes, he looked up at the guard who dared to lay hands on him, only to realize the man wasn’t done yet.

The guard followed up with another kick, this time striking Anthony squarely in the temple. The force sent him sprawling backward, limbs flailing helplessly like an overturned turtle, a pitiful and laughable sight.

After venting his anger, the guard stood over Anthony, looking down at him with an air of superiority. “You think you can insult Her Grace? In your dreams.

Anthony opened his mouth to protest, to claim those words weren’t his, but the moment his gaze met the guard’s piercingly cold eyes, the words died in his throat.

There was disdain, contempt, and scorn. It was as if the guard had already seen through his feeble lies, leaving Anthony too intimidated to útter another word in defense.

The guard moved so swiftly that everyone in the hall was instantly stunned.

“How dare you?” It took Gabriel a moment to react. He shot to his feet, his expression dark and furious. “A mere guard dares to act so brazenly in the Duke’s estate? Guards, seize him immediately.”

At his command, several guards rushed in from outside, surrounding the man in the center.

Just as they were about to make their move, the he sharp sound of porcelain shattering echoed through the hall.

Everyone turned to see a cup shattered at Gabriel’s feet. Porcelain shards were scattered across the floor, coffee spilled everywhere, and it clung to his trousers and shoes all thanks to one person.

Gabriel’s face darkened as he looked up at Eliza, who had just withdrawn her hand from the head of the table. Eliza made no attempt to hide her actions; the cup was hers to throw..

Dale.

“That’s right. He is my man,” Eliza declared firmly.

Because of his sudden move, Eliza guessed why he had done it. She felt both helpless about someone and couldn’t help but feel a warmth rising in her heart.

Though she didn’t know why he had disguised himself as a guard from the Marquis’s estate, it was clear he didn’t want his true identity revealed. Naturally, she wouldn’t stand by and let others lay a hand on him.

“I am the Holy Lady of Walden, appointed by His Majesty himself to pray for the nation and its people. My rank is on par with a princess. Your son insulted me with his words, which is not only disrespectful to me but also to His Majesty and the entire royal family. Even if he was merely repeating someone else’s words, they remain an affront. So, when my guard stepped in to teach him a lesson, what fault is there in that?” he said.

Eliza lowered her gaze to Gabriel, her presence growing increasingly imposing. “Lord Mowbay, or is it that you have long since stopped respecting His Majesty and the royal family?”
