430.Chapter 430
Sophie glared at him, her tone sharp. “Fine? You call this fine? If you keep this up, Matthew, I won’t bother with you next time!”
“Alright, alright, I was wrong. I’ll listen to you, Sophie Matthew immediately apologized, a smile tugging at his lips After speaking, he turned slightly to glance at Dylan,
His casual demeanor seemed to say, “See, this is the path I’ve chosen.”
What Matthew failed to notice was the storm brewing in Dylan’s heart.
Matthew was already too deeply entangled to see the truth.
But Dylan, now fully awake to the lies, saw everything with piercing clarity
As Sophie played the role of the caring sister, Dylan observed from a distance. Beneath her mask of concern, he caught fleeting glimpses of disdain.
When Matthew made his final promise, the contempt in Sophie’s eyes was so blatant it was almost impossible to miss
But the moment she sensed Dylan’s gaze and looked up, all traces of that disdain vanished.
What remained was a facade of care and worry, so convincing it could almost pass as genuine.
“Is something wrong, Dylan?” Sophie looked at him cautiously, her eyes filled with a mix of confusion and guardedness Meeting her gaze, Dylan felt a wave of disgust chur in his stomach.
The sight of Matthew being completely deceived by her made Dylan’s expression darker.
Looking at Matthew’s face, so much like his own, Dylan felt a bitter pang of recognition. It was like staring at a reflection of his former self.
He thought, “Haven’t I once been just as blind, ensnared by Sophie’s sugar–coated lies?
Back then, under the guise of her sweet manipulations, he had done so many things that hurt Eliza.
And now, Matthew was just like Dylan back then.
Matthew’s situation was even worse. He’d fallen deeper and been played even harder.
If no one stepped in to pull Matthew out of this mess, if Dylan truly gave up on him today, then Matthew would be beyond saving.
Matthew froze for a second, his mind racing. Then, his face lit up as he turned to Sophie.
‘Then why did he fight so fiercely in the first place? What a lunatic.”
Unable to make sense of it, Sophie cursed inwardly but quickly put on a cheerful expression. “That’s great, Matthew! You can stay here with Dylan for now.”
Matthew’s initial joy froze on his face upon hearing this. He was about to say something when Dylan added, “Sophie, you stay too. Help look after Matthew”
Matthew and Sophie were genuinely stunned.
