Chapter 224
“Eliza! Eliza, get out here right now!
Outside Saint Grace Nummery, Dylan was pounding on the main gates like a madman.
The commotion startled all the visitors coming and going
“What’s going on?”
“Who’s making all that noise?
“Eliza Isn’t that the Holy Lady’s secular name? Is he here for her?”
“Wait–I think I recognize him!
“Who is he?”
“That’s Lord Dylan from the Stonor family–he used to be the Holy Lady’s brother.”
“Him? But why does he look like he’s here to pick a fight?”
“Well… let me tell you the whole story…

Although most of the guests at Saint Grace Nunnery were from out of town, a few were local. And once they started talking. it didn’t take long before everyone was whispering about the feud between the Stonor family and Eliza
Now, when people looked at Dylan, their gazes had changed.
But Dylan noticed none of this. All he felt was a wildfire of rage. If it hadn’t been for Matthew and Gabriel repeatedly warning him not to barge into the nunnery, he would’ve kicked that door open by now,
After nearly pounding the wooden gates off their hinges, causing enough noise to shake the entire temple, someone finally came rushing out.
Sarah, flustered, stared at him in disbelief. “Dylan? What are you doing?”
He’d just been here the other day. And now he was back again–looking completely unhinged.
The next second, Sarah found out exactly what was wrong.
“Step aside,” Dylan snapped. “Go get Eliza. Now. Or I swear I’ll tear this place apart
This was not the polite, soft–spoken Dylan she’d spoken with before. His fury hit like a slap, and Sarah took a frighed step back.
1–what happened? Tell me what’s wrong. I’ll pass along the message-
Before she could finish, Dylan slammed a fist into the gate beside her.
The giant wooden door shuddered, and Sarah paled immediately.
“I said,” Dylan growled, voice ice–cold, “call Eliza out, or I won’t be so civil next time.”
Word of the outburst reached Eliza just as she returned from the medicine fields.
The moment she heard that Dylan had scared Sarah to tears, she didn’t hesitate–she came out immediately.

And there he was, Dylan, standing outside the gates with reddened eyes, his fury practically spilling out of him.
“Eliza,” he barked. “So you do know how to show your face. Now get ready–we’re going to the palace. You’re going to make the King release Sophief
Not far off, hiding in a discreet corner, Matthew frowned.
“That temper of his–still can’t control it. I told him to talk to Eliza properly. He acts like this, how could she possibly agree?

“I did,” Eliza said calmly. “And I’ll do it again. If your memory’s that bad, I’ll help you jog it.”
“This bastard dared to yell at the Holy Lady–tried to hit her!”
“Stonor family or not, we
won’t let him off!”
“Exactly! What, you think the Holy Lady is someone you can bully?”
“Your Grace, please step back! With us here, he won’t lay a finger on you!“
The pilgrims and visitors, now thoroughly enraged, pinned Dylan to the ground.
A few of them even took the opportunity to land some not–so–accidental punches. He got socked in the ribs, the jaw, the side of the head–so many times he saw stars. He couldn’t even tell who hit him anymore.

Curled on the ground, arms over his head, he struted hoarsely, “Are your all insane! You’re protecting her blur a venomous witch–she even went after her own sister!
You’re the venomous one?”
“Holy Lady is beautiful and kind–how dare you slander her?”
“What sister? Everyone knows Sophie’s just Gabriel’s illegitimate daughter!
