"Darling, I've arrived. Can you sense me?"
"Magnus, should we go find your wife now?" James whispered, interrupting Magnus' tumultuous thoughts.
With a mischievous shake of his head, Magnus replied, "No, let's not scare her off. I want to fully understand everything about her this time. Then, I'll make my grand entrance at her fashion show and bring her back home with me."
"Understood." James followed Magnus' orders and quickly arranged for their stay at a five-star hotel, where they checked into the presidential suite on the seventeenth floor.
Looking out at the enchanting night view from the window, Magnus instructed James, "Find out everything about my wife's past year. I'm eager to understand how she underwent such a remarkable transformation."
"Right away." James got to work and soon discovered Natalia's current status. "Mr. Magnus, Natalia is hosting this fashion show as a stakeholder."
"A stakeholder? She started her own company?" Magnus raised an intrigued eyebrow. It seemed he had underestimated his wife.
James shook his head, "Not exactly. Upon investigating, I found out that NH International, the fashion company she's part of, was started as a partnership. And NH International is their flagship brand."
Magnus' face darkened, "With whom?"
James hesitated, then decided to speak up, "With your cousin, Hector. And if my hunch is right, he's been with Natalia the whole year. They left Rome and arrived in Hawaii together."
"What?" Magnus slammed his hand on the table, startling James.
"Hector! Oh, he's been well aware of my search for my wife, and yet he's kept it from me in silence! Very well!" Fury blazed in Magnus' eyes as he reached for his phone, ready to confront his uncle.
Hector had been off the radar for years; even their uncle was at his wit's end with his wayward son. Today, Magnus was determined to show his uncle the true colors of his cherished son, who had dared to spirit away his wife!
Magnus dialed his uncle's number with a grim expression but canceled the call just as it was about to connect. No, he couldn't do this just yet. If he dragged his uncle into this mess now, his wife would surely reproach him for his recklessness. And if that angered her further, he would end up losing even more.
Swallowing his rage, Magnus tossed his phone aside. He decided to bide his time and attend his wife's fashion show to take her home! As for Hector, he'd deal with him after reclaiming the love of his life.
She gracefully walked towards the center of the stage, her elegantly tailored dress accentuating her figure. Her glowing skin, silky hair, and light blue eyes made her look like a princess straight out of a fairy tale—regal and ethereal.
Magnus' gaze followed every move she made, feeling as if his heart might burst from his chest with pride and anticipation.
Long ago, he knew his wife was a rough diamond that would one day shine. Yet, he had never imagined her transformation would be so complete. She was no longer simply a diamond in the rough; she was a flame, a beacon of brilliance, captivating everyone's attention.
Natalia, slightly nervous about speaking in front of a large audience, had prepared her speech the night before, but still felt anxious as she approached the stage.
Luckily, Hector had noticed her jitters and reassured her through the backstage earpiece, "It's okay, Natalia. Go out there and show them your eloquence! And if you falter, I'll be right here to prompt you."
Natalia felt a notch less tense as she drew a deep breath, bracing herself for her very first public speech.
She bent slightly at the waist, giving a modest nod to the audience seated before her. Despite her efforts to appear calm, her heart raced as she avoided the sea of unfamiliar faces, her gaze fixed on an indistinct point in midair. Her voice quivered slightly as she began, “First off, I want to extend a hearty thank you to everyone who’s taken time out of their busy schedules to be here at this fashion show that I’ve put together. Thank you, truly. I’m just an ordinary designer, really. The reason behind organizing this event was to send a message to others like me, the unseen dreamers in our field, to let them know that if you hold onto your dreams and work tirelessly towards them, success is just around the corner!”
