As Kiaran drove away, the old man made his way into the house. The moment Kiaran's car was out of sight, a cloaked figure appeared at the door. The old man, seemingly noticing his presence, gestured for him to enter.
Huchon approached the old man and dropped to one knee. "Project Eclipse is currently underway, sir. This time, everything will proceed as planned."
The old man's once friendly smile vanished, replaced by a cold, steely gaze. "You've done much, but none of it meets expectations. Figure out where the real problem lies."
Huchon hurriedly explained, "We could've succeeded if it weren't for Wynter Quinnell's meddling. She ruined everything we had planned."
The old man spared him only a glance. "Well, she's gone for good. Nothing is holding you back now. However, Cascadia is still under the Special Unit and Top Unit's protection. Are you familiar with their operations?"
Huchon nodded. "They're formidable, but we're no weaker. When the time comes, Cascadia will be thrown into chaos. By then, we'll repress it along with the other nations."
The old man turned his back on Huchon with a scoff. "Fool. There are far simpler ways for me to sow discord in Cascadia. Remember, our true goal is to seize Cascadia's Celestial Force and fortune.
"Once we strip them of both, Cascadia will be left to fend for itself. Speaking of which, do you have any news on the Celestial Force?"
Huchon was momentarily stunned before replying, "Not yet. But rumors have it that Gordon Quinnell left behind blueprints containing clues about its location. I've already sent my men for infiltration. Sooner or later, we'll have those blueprints in hand."
"You'd better speed things up," the old man urged sternly. Huchon voiced his acknowledgement, his head dropping lower.
As the old man sat on a stone stool, he questioned, "Did you gather everyone for a meeting today?"
Huchon affirmed, "Yes, sir. It was to discuss Project Eclipse."
"Did you notice anyone tailing you?" The old man pressed on.
Huchon was baffled by the question. "We met in secret. It's unlikely anyone could have tracked us."
The old man shook his head in dismay. "You've underestimated the Special Unit's prowess. Shortly after you left through the secret passage, a team broke into the house."
At that thought, Osian walked to his desk and took out a pouch from the drawer. He pulled it open and retrieved a small note—a clue left by Wynter.
The note read, "It's like we're meeting in person, even though it's through words. But let's cut to the chase. If you're reading this, you've probably figured something out already.
"If my predictions are accurate, your first step is to send some teams to quietly monitor the busy areas in Kingbourne, Hawford, and Colifernia. If you find anyone suspicious, capture them immediately.
"Secondly, if you're ever unsure, you can reach Lucas at this number. And thirdly, wait for my return."
Osian felt more reassured after reading the message. He turned to his team members and instructed, "Gather around, everyone. It's time to go over the mission. Starting today, teams will closely monitor the bustling areas in Kingbourne, Hawford, and Colifernia.
"If you find anyone acting suspicious, just take them away. And if they resist, take any required measures."
"Yes, sir!" the members responded in unison.
