Meanwhile, an urgent voice echoed through the private suite of Oceanuv Hotel. "Mr. Yarwood reacted!"
"Is that true?" An exclamation followed.
…
At the same time, Kaspar was swiping through his phone before dialing a number. As soon as the call connected, he quickly asked, "Where the heck are you, Dalton?"
"Is that you, Mr. Stavius?" The one who answered was Keane, sounding rather anxious. He was eager to check on Dalton's condition.
Kaspar was stunned and stared at the screen. Upon confirming that he had dialed the right number, he questioned puzzledly, "Who are you? Where did you get Dalton's phone?"
Almost as if he had found a lifeline, Keane quickly replied, "I'm Mr. Yarwood's personal assistant. Mr. Stavius, Mr. Yarwood is…"
He took a deep breath before continuing, "Mr. Yarwood has been in a deep slumber for the past three days. The doctor found no abnormalities. He showed some reaction earlier, but he still hasn't woken up."
"Dalton is unconscious?" Kaspar was baffled.
He knew Wynter had tended to Dalton with such care that he was overflowing with heavenly blessings and golden energy. It didn't make sense that Dalton would fall into slumber without warning.
Before Keane could explain further, Kaspar interrupted, "Where are you right now? I'll come to you. We'll discuss this later!"
"We're in Oceanuv Hotel's top-floor private suite. It's the Yarwood Group's property," Keane replied.
Once he had the address, Kaspar hung up the call and headed straight to Oceanuv Hotel. On the other hand, Keane felt a surge of relief after speaking with Kaspar.
Kaspar was a reputable medium, after all. With his expertise, there was a real chance that Dalton would recover.
Jensen, who had overheard the phone conversation, instinctively shuddered. While the common folks couldn't discern Dalton's true identity, Kaspar could swiftly recognize him at a glance.
Recalling that Theo was also on his way to the hotel after learning the news, Jensen turned to Keane and stated, "I'll go receive Mr. Yarwood Senior."
Keane didn't think much and gave a nod of acknowledgement. "Understood. Sorry for the trouble, Mr. Crowe."
Jensen waved him off. "No worries. It's part of the job."
Moments later, Kaspar arrived at Oceanuv Hotel's top floor, guided by an employee. Keane, waiting by the door, rushed up to greet him. "You're finally here, Mr. Stavius."
"We'll talk later. I need to check on Dalton," Kaspar urged.
Understanding the urgency of the situation, Keane opened the door and led Kaspar into the private suite. After a few turns, they finally reached Dalton's room.
Spotting the figure on the bed, Kaspar rushed to the bedside. Once he confirmed that it was indeed Dalton, he let out a deep sigh. "How could you drop the ball at such a critical time?"
Kaspar had intended to borrow some of Dalton's heavenly luck to save Wynter and stop Atwater from forcibly activating his divine eye.
Sitting by the bed, Kaspar took Dalton's arm and felt his pulse. Upon confirming that his pulse and breathing were steady, he moved to examine Dalton's eyes. It was then that Dalton furrowed his brows as his fingers twitched.
Kaspar frowned at the sight, sensing something was off. He placed a palm on Dalton's forehead but found nothing changed. He suspected that Dalton had encountered something, or perhaps taken some actions, in his dream that caused him to frown. Kaspar searched through his memories.
Unfortunately, the people's welfare had to come first. To restore balance, the ancient beasts and fearsome beasts would face the thunderstrike trial, sending them into eternal slumber. The stronger a beast, the more fiercely it would be held down.
That was the case for Whitley, the Celestial Dragon, and Wolf, also known as Chaos. But for Jensen, the Savior Crow, the circumstances were different. Recognizing the crow's chance for survival, Dalton saved him and planned for his eventual awakening.
According to the plan, the crow was supposed to awaken beside Dalton. Yet, Dalton woke up later than expected.
During their first meeting, the crow was shocked to find Dalton's distorted lifeline. Worse still, he seemed to have no memory of the crow. But as the crow circled in the sky, he often noticed Dalton's stare.
Sometimes, Dalton would let out a few coughs, appearing frail and vulnerable. He couldn't understand the crow's words, nor could he sense the spiritual remnants he brought.
When the crow first appeared, the Yarwood family feared the worst for Dalton. They attempted to chase the crow away, believing he was an ill omen. It wasn't until the wise Theo claimed that the crow was sacred that he was permitted to enter the house.
However, the crow feared that foolish demons might try to take advantage of the amnesic Dalton. After all, the current Dalton was nothing like his past incarnations. Not only had he lost his memories, but his divine soul was also gone.
Moreover, the soul remnants had scattered across time—even the crow couldn't track them with certainty. He could only rely on his keen sense of smell to seek out the scattered remnants.
The crow had to admit that he would never have been able to wake Dalton up without Wynter's presence. Though he wasn't clear what had deviated from the plan, that was the reality of the situation.
With Wynter around, Dalton's spiritual form had slowly begun to recover. However, she had also mentioned that the Earthbound Formation she had once investigated might be the cause of his frailty. Could it be that…
Jensen fell silent as his gaze drifted to Dalton's bedroom window. Could it be Dalton had purposely schemed everything so that he could cross paths with Wynter in each incarnation? Even if their meeting was brief, he would ensure his spiritual form remained in her path.
Despite Jensen's doubts, he couldn't shake the feeling that it was something Dalton would do.
