The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call (Wynter Quinnell) novel Chapter 1771

The darkness enveloping the old man seemed to echo the displeasure in his heart. "I just want to know what went wrong with Tobias' accident. Who's the one who foiled my plan?"

Junius couldn't help but shudder under the weight of the piercing question.

The old man hacked a cough, and the raspy sound betrayed his old age. "It seems like you haven't figured it out."

"Could it be a medium from Mt. Dragon?" Junius speculated.

The old man glanced at him and retorted, "Eric has gathered every medium at the banquet for the relocation of the chamber's heritage site, including Kaspar. And we've known that Foplyan doll for years—do you seriously think Kaspar stands against her?"

Junius shared the same confusion. By all logic, anyone who had made a wish to Gabby would've turned into her puppet. Even if the formation had been dispelled, the victim would've still lost their soul. Yet, the news was that everyone from the film set was alive and well, especially Tobias.

To make matters worse, approaching Tobias would be much harder now. While both he and Logan were the perfect vessels for their lord, they failed to reach Tobias. As for Logan, he was still nowhere to be found, as though hidden by some unseen forces.

The old man's expression darkened further, irritated by his rapid aging and recent failures. When he thought about Wynter, whom he had previously underestimated, his eyes turned cold. "From here on out, act with more discretion. Leave no traces behind. You know who the final sacrifice is."

"Rest assured, sir. I understand you're suspicious of that Quinnell woman, but it's the humans who are against each other this time. There's nothing she can do. If she does interfere, she'll be trapped in the formation!

"And if she has ever undergone spiritual practice, her Arcane mind will be shattered. She'll be left in a state worse than that of a normal citizen," Junius replied as his eyes gleamed unsettlingly, like a snake's.

"Of course, the students' safety always comes first," he replied. The gentle voice was a stark contrast to the coldness it held moments before.

No matter how powerful one was, they would eventually meet their doom for interfering with the ritual. After all, they were attempting to save the sinners, an act that defied the heavenly laws.

Alas, the savior would realize their mistake too late with their Arcane minds shattered—just like the fools in the mountains long ago.

The old man let out a laugh as his wrinkled face contorted in an unsettling way.

Meanwhile, Wynter had identified the suspect from the surveillance footage. After a swift background check through the face recognition system, she led Dalton to a seemingly ordinary apartment.
