The guardian's sword by Taking Cigarette novel Chapter 1669

“Got it…” Geena nodded.

Then Quentin hung up.

A short time later, 800 thousand dollars was credited to Geena’s bank account. It was the money Geena spent on Shania’s necklace, which Quentin sort of paid back to Geena.

Just then, Marsha strode in.

“Commander, has Killer X been caught?” Marsha asked with a smile.

Assassins had always been scary and would destabilize a city. Thus, Marsha was strongly hostile to assassins. Now that Killer X was caught, he was happy, of course.

“Yes, but she died before we could get anything from the interrogation, so I think there’s more to this. I’ll lift the lockdown in a few days,” said Geena.

“Got it!” Marsha gave a heavy nod.

Night soon fell.

The canteen of the army camp was crowded. After a day‘s training, the soldiers were tired but full of spirit.

Although tired, their faces were glowing. They chatted and laughed with their comrades while getting dinner, occasionally telling dirty jokes.

Just then, a commotion suddenly broke out in the canteen.

“What are you doing? Are you cutting in line?”

“Cutting in line? You’re the one who cut in line! I’ve been waiting in line for a long time!”

“You’re obviously the one cutting in line. I just went to the washroom, and you stole my spot!

“Who told you to go to the washroom? You have to get back in line after going to the washroom!”

“F*ck you! Say that again!”

“Should I repeat what I said just because you asked me to? Who do you think you are?!”

The two soldiers stood to attention, saluted, and explained, “Commander-in -chief, I’m queueing for dinner, but he cut in line!”

“Commander-in-chief, he’s the one cutting in line!”

There was no telling who was right or wrong in this.

Geena looked at the two and chided, ’How can city defense soldiers fight over such a thing? It’s ridiculous.”

The two soldiers lowered their heads in shame, not daring to argue.

“Marsha, bring me my meal and give it to him! Bring yours too!”

“Yes!” Marsha immediately replied in acknowledgment, brought his and Geena’s meals, and placed them in front of the two soldiers.

The expressions of the soldiers around him changed when they saw that.

No one expected the city defense army’s commander-in-chief to give away his meal to the average soldier!
