Chapter 356 Ambush
Nathan drank a lot with Wendy.
The hangover allowed Wendy to release her pressure.
They drank good wine. Even if she were drunk, she would feel like nothing had happened when she woke up the next day and
wouldn’t have a headache.
Therefore, Wendy was in good condition.
“Rayburn, you can rest at home. I’ll bury Randy’s ashes,” Wendy said calmly after changing into a black suit.
“Yes, Ms. Wendy,” Rayburn said in a low voice.
Wendy nodded to Nathan and then went out.
Nathan followed and came with her to the cemetery.
Few people were in the cemetery. And Wendy’s parents were buried at the top of the cemetery hill.
Those who could buy a tomb were from rich and noble families. A grave had been priced up at millions of dollars.
Many people thought buying such an expensive tomb was paying stupid taxes. But the rich spent the money to make their generations feel at ease, and they were no shortage of money.
Hundreds of bats flew over when the wonderful land on the top of the hill was reclaimed. So the officials hyped up, saying it meant blessings. As a result, the lowest transaction price for a cemetery was 160 thousand dollars.
Given who Wendy was, Randy should have a decent burial, and many people would be invited to offer their condolences.
However, she chose a quieter way. Perhaps she didn’t want others to mention those painful memories.
There was another tomb next to the joint burial, with black tape pasted on the tombstone.
Wendy tore off the tape, revealing Randy’s name and a black and white photo.
It turned out that she had already prepared for this day to come.
Nathan put the urn into the tomb and sealed it with a heavy stone slab.
“Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.”
“I won’t hate you anymore. When you see your parents, remember to apologize to them.”
Wendy raised a handful of soil, took the lighter, and lit the joss stick.
Nathan watched it with his hands in his pockets and suddenly became vigilant.
He narrowed his eyes and stood beside Wendy calmly, feeling inexplicable anger for a moment.
Of course, he was an indifferent person. But he would still care about something.
Therefore, he was a little angry. Those people crossed his bottom line.
The cemetery buried Wendy’s parents and perhaps buried Wendy’s last peace. But some people wanted to destroy it.
Obviously, those people knew about Randy’s death, so they could ambush Wendy here.
It was monstrous to do that at Randy’s funeral in the cemetery.
Wendy didn’t realize any danger yet and silently opened a bottle of wine. She sprinkled it in front of her parents‘ grave, clasped
her hands together, and prayed.
“We should go, or it will be too late.” Nathan became serious, held Wendy’s hand, and said slowly.
Wendy frowned and looked at him, confused.
“Boom!”
At that moment, a gunshot came!
There were many enemies and many guns. Fortunately, Nathan was flexible enough, and the surrounding tombstones could cover them effectively.
The bullets shattered the tombstone, with the gravel scattering everywhere, raising countless smoke and dust.
Gunshots rang out all over the cemetery hill!
Wendy covered her ears in pain and trembled repeatedly. She was not afraid but felt pain.
“Don’t move around. Follow me.” Nathan pulled Wendy out from behind the huge tombstone. And he already had two seized pistols on his belt..
Holding the gun in one hand and pulling Wendy in the other hand, he circled the cemetery hill, trying to avoid the path with the most gunmen and go down the hill.
Fortunately, the hill was big enough, and the gunmen dispersed to surround and kill them.
Moreover, Nathan was a great shoot and had an incredible sense of smell. When the gunmen surrounded them, he could quickly shoot who was at the worst place and forcefully rushed out with Wendy.
“Who are they?” Wendy gritted her teeth and asked, with anger flickering in her eyes.
“I don’t know, but it must have something to do with the Porter Group alliance,” Nathan said calmly. Then he suddenly hugged Wendy and jumped off the 13–foot–high platform.
Wendy could barely feel the shock when she landed. She said deeply, “It’s time to close it off. What do you think?”
Nathan nodded, “It’s up to you. You are the commander–in–chief.”
After saying that, he threw out the empty pistol and hit a gunman 33 feet away in the cheek
Then, he quickly pulled out the pistol pinned to his belt and shot to kill the gunman covering his face.
A few minutes later, Nathan finally rushed down to the cemetery hill with Wendy.
However, those gunmen did not give up and came after them.
At that moment, a car suddenly came like the wind. It fishtailed and stopped before Nathan.
“Mr. Evans, Ms. Wendy. Come on!” The person in the car shouted.
