Scarlett Jennings’ voice wasn’t too loud or too soft, but it was like a clear spring flowing, melodically pleasant, yet the words she spoke made people pause noticeably.
Ruby’s parents, having heard their daughter’s words, worried that she might have upset someone, hurried over to pull her away. They hadn’t expected to hear Scarlett Jennings just as they approached.
Seeing Ruby’s visibly shocked expression, Ruby’s mother couldn’t help but question,
"Ruby! Since when did you have a boyfriend?! Why didn’t I know about it?"
No wonder! Her daughter’s college entrance exam scores were so poor. It turned out she got a boyfriend and wasn’t focused on her studies!
Ruby Winsor was first stunned by Scarlett’s words, and then, being caught off guard by her mother’s voice, she frowned,
"Mom, I’m already eighteen. Having a boyfriend is perfectly normal!"
This, implicitly, was an admission.
The Jennings Family members nearby also turned their heads slightly, but unlike in the past, they didn’t rush to cover up Scarlett’s "nonsense." Instead, they were a bit curious if what she said was true.
Ruby, seeing Scarlett’s words had caused her to be scolded by her mom, was a bit upset. Remembering that she just mentioned her being deceived by her boyfriend, she was even more dissatisfied.
"How did you know I have a boyfriend? Have you seen him?"
Ruby was convinced Scarlett must have seen her with her boyfriend somewhere, which is why she said what she did.
Scarlett, however, looked at Ruby with a leisurely expression,
"I thought you’d be curious about what he deceived you."
When Ruby saw she was still talking about her boyfriend deceiving her, she couldn’t care less about her parents’ obstruction and glared at Scarlett,
"You’re talking nonsense! How could my boyfriend deceive me? We are very good together!"
Ruby thought she was merely saying that her boyfriend was cheating on her to plant seeds of doubt.
Once suspicious, it was easy to create conflicts and suspicions, which would then lead to arguments, affecting their relationship.
Thinking this, Ruby felt Scarlett was truly insidious!
Scarlett wasn’t concerned with Ruby’s angry glare, speaking to herself,
"Your Marriage Palace shows you have a rotten relationship, and there is a grey aura at your Wealth Star, which means you are about to lose money, and it’s related to your boyfriend."
She paused and asked,
"Your boyfriend, has he borrowed money from you recently?"
Ruby originally prepared a bunch of words to counter her nonsense. Upon hearing this, she was caught off guard and froze.
Her boyfriend had indeed borrowed money from her...
The young girl didn’t quite know how to hide her emotions, and with the guests around being savvy figures, they naturally noticed that Ruby had been hit spot on, and a hint of interest arose among them.
Ruby’s parents also saw their daughter’s odd expression and hurriedly asked,
"Baby, could it be that Scarlett was right, did your boyfriend really borrow money from you?"
Ruby, questioned by her mom, felt guilty for a moment yet stubbornly said,
"Well... he needed funds for his business start-up. I was investing, not lending..."
Hearing this, Ruby’s mother was nearly angered to faint.
Initially, she thought it was just borrowing a small amount of tens of thousands, treating it as giving a handout.
But when it came to investing in a start-up, there was immediately a bad premonition.
