The Fake Heiress Turns Out to Be a True Tycoon! novel Chapter 384

Chapter 384: Chapter 384: The Boss, He Changed His Style

Chalmers Family.

Samuel Chalmers was in the middle of a video call. When a message notification popped up on the table, he paused for a moment.

On the other side of the video call, a devilishly handsome man raised an eyebrow at him and said, "What’s up?"

"Nothing," Samuel replied, his expression cold. Speaking to the man on the other side of the call, he added, "I’ll be going to Capital Metropolitan soon."

The man immediately laughed upon hearing that. "Well, that’s great! Those old geezers have been getting restless these past two years. I’ve been tempted to visit each of them and teach them a lesson. If you’re heading there, they’ll definitely settle down."

Despite the man’s incessant chattering, Samuel didn’t bother listening further. He said, "I’m hanging up," and closed the video with a decisive click.

He then picked up his phone, glanced at the message he had just received, and after some thought, directly initiated a voice call.

The voice call was answered quickly. Samuel didn’t bother with pleasantries and went straight to the point, asking,

"You want to treat me to a meal?"

"Mhm." Through the speaker, Scarlett Jennings’s voice sounded soft and sweet. "I just made a little fortune and want to treat you to dinner."

"A fortune?" Samuel couldn’t help his curiosity.

Scarlett didn’t hide anything. "My grandpa said he’d transfer me an extra 5% of the group’s shares. I’m very wealthy now."

Her tone was calm and usually composed, but if you listened closely, there was a hint of restrained excitement in her voice.

The corners of Samuel’s lips slightly curled in a faint smile, and without hesitation, he replied directly,

"Alright, when?"

"How about tonight?" Scarlett deliberately asked. "I’m heading back to the academy in a couple of days. Can you spare time tonight?"

"I can," Samuel said simply. "I’m not busy."

Hearing him say he wasn’t busy, Scarlett gave an odd glance toward Liora Gold, who was sitting at the table.

Wasn’t he supposed to be too busy to even eat?

Is he lying to me?

Liora’s expressionless demeanor betrayed a trace of innocent confusion: ...

This isn’t my fault. I didn’t say anything.

With the time and place settled, the two hung up the phone.

Sophie Harper immediately floated over holding the baby spirit, craning her head toward Scarlett with a face full of curiosity and gossip.

"Is this a date? A candlelight dinner? Can I tag along?"

Scarlett shot her a glance and answered without hesitation,

"No date, no candles, and no tagging along."

Sophie immediately drooped her head, but soon perked up again. She floated into Scarlett’s wardrobe, and not long after, she came back with several beautiful cocktail dresses, her voice full of enthusiasm.

"Scarlett, since you’re going on a date tonight, you have to look stunning. I picked out a few dresses for you; see which one you like?"

Seeing Sophie insist this was a date, Scarlett couldn’t be bothered to correct her anymore. When she looked at the dresses Sophie had brought over, she was momentarily distressed.

All of these dresses were this season’s new arrivals sent over by Brianna Jennings. Although Scarlett didn’t see her aunt often, the woman undeniably showed care for her.

At first, Brianna sent all kinds of gorgeous and exquisite dresses. Upon realizing Scarlett preferred casual styles, she then switched to simpler everyday clothing with thoughtful design touches.

Yet, Brianna still insisted on including a few dresses with varying styles in case Scarlett ever felt like switching up her mood.

Azura Loomis received similar treatment, but even though they both got new arrivals, the brands’ signature limited editions were always reserved for Scarlett alone—even if she didn’t wear them.

Azura had subtly hinted at Brianna’s favoritism, but Brianna, aware of the matter, persisted regardless.

To Brianna, even if she had spent longer periods with Azura and was closer to her personally, she would never allow Azura’s status to overshadow Scarlett’s as the legitimate lady of the Jennings Family.

This had nothing to do with their personal relationship—it was simply about identity.

While Scarlett had never considered competing with Azura over equal treatment, who wouldn’t enjoy being pampered in such a thoughtful way?

Thinking along these lines, Scarlett found herself conflicted.
