Scarlett Jennings and Evander Simpson suddenly ran away one after another, and of course, Director Clark took it seriously.
Several guests were worried that something had happened and they all left the shoot to look for them.
It wasn’t easy finding them, but in the courtyard, only Evander Simpson was left.
In his hand, he still held a prop sword from the production crew, and it seemed like there was blood on the sword?
"Evander, why did you two suddenly run off? Did something happen? Where’s Scarlett?"
The host asked, his eyes uncontrollably glancing at the sword in Evander’s hand.
It shouldn’t be possible, the crew’s swords are blunted.
It shouldn’t be a murder.
Evander was still guarding the Talisman Array that Scarlett had set up, and upon seeing a crowd from the production team approaching, he casually explained,
"There was a bit of a situation just now, my young friend Jennings... she went back to Sea City first."
Although she had informed the Security Bureau to catch someone, Scarlett still decided to go back herself, as she had some questions to ask those behind the scenes.
After a quick trip to the hotel to grab her backpack, she let the assistant assigned by Donovan take care of her remaining belongings.
Once she left the hotel, just as Scarlett was about to hail a taxi to the airport, she saw a familiar car that still shone with Golden Light even in broad daylight parked in front of her.
The rear window rolled down, revealing Samuel Chalmers’s face enveloped in golden radiance.
"Get in the car."
Scarlett was somewhat surprised, why had the big shot come again?
Was he coming to settle accounts?
As she thought about it, the air next to her stirred with Shadow Energy – it was Sophie Harper.
"Master Jennings, I especially notified your Taoist couple to come pick you up; am I considerate or what?"
While floating around, Sophie leaned in close to Scarlett with her face missing bits of Shadow Energy due to the recent brawl, giving her a somewhat pitiful look.
But she seemed to not care at all, wearing an expression that read [See how useful I am?], eagerly awaiting Scarlett’s gaze.
Scarlett: ...
I’m afraid I’m unable to rid myself of this Ghost Servant.
Yet this thoughtfulness...
Thanks, but it’s not that great.
"Don’t just go find him without my permission next time."
Before getting into the car, Scarlett did not forget to whisper a warning to Sophie, then paused, feeling that her tone was a bit too harsh, so she added softly,
"He’s busy."
Having acknowledged Samuel as her Taoist couple, she had to continue the pretense.
Otherwise, this Big Ghost might really lose her constraints and turn to bother Samuel Chalmers again.
Sigh.
If I had known, I might as well have struck her with lightning and killed her from the start.
I shouldn’t have listened to her backstory.
Sophie was unaware of Scarlett’s regret for not directly striking her down, she only heeded the warning, rolled her eyes earnestly, and nodded her head.
"I understand!"
Although Master Jennings is young, she’s quite considerate of her own Taoist couple.
I get it.
Getting into the car, Scarlett subconsciously glanced at Samuel’s expression.
Although she couldn’t see clearly through the light, she vaguely felt that he probably wasn’t angry.
She stared hard, and Samuel, who would feel it unless he was dead, slightly turned towards her and asked,
"Have you taken her as your Ghost Servant?"
