Ismeria Jennings knew the reason she couldn’t go on the study tour was because of Scarlett Jennings. Her first reaction was that Grandpa was biased.

Odessa was getting a bit of a headache from the commotion and felt somewhat resentful toward Scarlett Jennings. It wasn’t because she said there could be danger during this study tour, but because she thought Scarlett was so capable, surely there were other ways to ward off disaster without making children skip the trip to avoid it. "You still have time," Scarlett said sincerely. "At this moment, your classmates are still gathering and haven’t set off yet. You can still make it if you pack up and leave now."
