When Azura Loomis woke up the next day, she clearly noticed that her complexion wasn’t looking good.
This was a side effect brought on by the decrease in Goodwill Value.
Her face didn’t look great, and with more than a month left before school started, she needed to begin her college life with the most perfect appearance.
She had to regain the lost Goodwill Value.
Azura thought about it, and realized that Lucas Jennings had a stubborn nature, making him difficult to deal with in the short term. The easiest target, Chase Jennings, had gone to Tong City, leaving only Adam Jennings.
It just so happened that his birthday was coming up, so Azura decided to start from there.
With this in mind, Azura immediately forced herself to perk up and put on a natural makeup look. Then she went downstairs, planning to find Adam.
First, she needed to casually ask if there was anything he wanted recently.
And then casually let him guess that she intended to prepare a birthday gift for him in advance.
Men generally were very touched by this.
This approach was much more effective than straightforwardly asking.
Thinking about it, Azura headed to the dining room and, as expected, saw Adam sitting there. She immediately smiled and greeted him.
"Morning~"
Graceful and generous, as warm as the rising sun, that was the image she always gave people in this household.
Adam didn’t notice anything off about Azura compared to the previous day. As he instructed someone to set the breakfast on the table, he nodded to Azura as a response to her greeting.
Azura’s gaze shifted to the breakfast on the table, noticing it was different from what was usually made at home. Several items were store-bought.
Her eyes brightened, "Is this breakfast from Delicacies? I remember they don’t do takeout."
Adam lifted his chin slightly and said, "Tired of the home-cooked breakfast, so I had Aunt Li go early to buy from Delicacies."
Hearing this, Azura smiled immediately, her gaze falling on a small plate of pearl dumplings on the table, which she had praised as delicious before.
It was commendable that Adam remembered her preferences and had someone buy them early in the morning, and she sat down, smiling, in front of the plate of pearl dumplings.
Unexpectedly, Adam raised his hand and moved the plate to a spot next to him.
Azura was stunned, not reacting at first, only to see Adam suddenly look toward the dining room door, clear his throat, and speak,
"Scarlett Jennings, I had someone buy breakfast from Delicacies. Do you want to come and try it? Their signature pearl dumplings are especially coveted and usually unavailable."
Adam’s words left Scarlett feeling inexplicable, and Azura at the dining table even more baffled.
*What was going on?*
*Since when did Adam and Scarlett get along so well?*
*Wasn’t he furious about her silencing him before?!*
*Now he was even bringing her breakfast!*
Azura felt like she was missing something, even sensing a faint feeling that the Adam in front of her was slipping out of her control...
Unaware of the turmoil in Azura’s mind, when Adam saw Scarlett walking over, he pushed the plate of pearl dumplings closer to her.
Scarlett looked at Adam inexplicably and understood at a glance.
This person hadn’t given up on having her help with the jade carving customization.
It was rare to see him holding back his own feelings to be this polite, just to have her help "bridge the gap."
Scarlett didn’t take the dumplings, instead serving herself a bowl of porridge, her refusal clear.
Adam felt a bit stifled, wanting to get angry, but remembering the jade carving from Grant, he managed to hold it in.
The atmosphere among the three at the dining table was strange, and soon there was a sound of footsteps from upstairs.
It was Lucas Jennings coming downstairs.
