“Grandpa, this Leon guy is so rude. He promised to come at noon and it’s way past noon now, yet he’s nowhere to be seen.” Candice was growing impatient.
As the eldest daughter of the Dagleshs, she had a high status and breathtaking beauty, which meant that she had many pursuers.
It was always others who waited for her and fawned over her, so she never waited for someone else.
Yet, she was now waiting for a strange man alongside Elder Daglesh and the others. Because of that, she was quite upset with Leon.
“Candice, be patient. I’ve already called Mister Wolf and he is coming our way now. He should be here in no time,” Jensen said. “He’s only departing now? What was he doing just now?” Candice grew even angrier. She hated men who could not keep their promises and since Leon was not punctual, her first impression of him was horrible.
If Elder Daglesh and Jensen did not value Leon that much, she would have left a long time ago instead of waiting for such a rude man.
“Maybe Mister Wolf is caught up by something,” Jensen said.
He called Leon earlier and Leon merely mentioned that he was on his way. Not a word was mentioned about him reaching an agreement with the Morrisons.
He did not know why Leon was late, but based on what he knew about Leon, Leon was not a proud or rude person. Hence, he assumed that Leon was likely caught up in something.
“Il-” Candice wanted to argue but dared not to defy Elder Daglesh. She could only swallow her words but remained annoyed, clearly upset that Elder Daglesh praised Leon.
She did not know much about Leon and merely heard from Jensen that Leon was the chairman of a pharmaceutical firm.
She had no clue as to how powerful Leon’s alchemical pills were, nor was she aware that Leon was already in the Almighty State despite his age, making him much more powerful than the likes of Hugo and Felton.
If she knew all these, she would have understood why Elder Daglesh praised Leon so much.
