The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 2237

Although Nigel was Gregory’s father, he still wanted to protect his beloved Anna. Gathering his strength, Nigel sternly rebuked. “What do you mean by that? Justin hasn’t lost an arm or a leg. He’s just temporarily unconscious! Are you cursing your son?! If you think your son is beyond saving, instead of yelling around here, why don’t you go and prepare for his funeral? Maybe it’ll bring him some luck!”

“Dad, even now, you’re still siding with this girl?!” Gregory’s rage was uncontrollable as he glared at Bella, his eyes bloodshot with anger. “I’m beginning to think this girl is a jinx to my son! What did Justin ever do to deserve this from you?! Why are you tormenting him like this?!”

Bella, usually sharp-tongued, remained silent, enduring all the blame. She clenched her fingers tightly but did not utter a word.

Her silence only fueled Gregory’s fury. In a fit of impulsive rage, he raised his arm and was about to slap her pale face.

“Gregory, stop!” Nigel’s eyes widened in shock, but his frail body was too weak to intervene.

Bella closed her swollen eyes. She did not dodge the slap because she felt that she deserved it.

Gregory was right. She was the reason Justin was in such a condition.

She deserved the slap. She deserved to die!

Smack–!

Bella’s thin body trembled.

However, the slap never landed on her.

Bella slowly opened her tear-filled eyes.

The scene before her made her breath catch. Her heart clenched tightly.

With those words, Grant slowly released Gregory’s hand.

At the same time, Gregory felt a sharp pain in his wrist. He looked down and saw that his wrist had turned red.

“Young Master! Please be careful!” Clarice hurried over, quickly pushing a wheelchair toward Grant, and helped him sit down.

Grant smiled faintly, his eyes curving gently. “It’s alright. I’m not that fragile. It’s good to stand up and stretch my legs sometimes.”

“Grant, your legs... They’re fine?!” Gregory gawked at his son’s long legs beneath his black trousers, completely forgetting his anger toward Bella.

Grant smiled softly. His gaze was warm like a spring breeze, brushing lightly across Bella’s face. “Dad, just because I’m in a wheelchair doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with my legs.”
