The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 2199

Bella trembled in Christopher’s arms. She felt a flicker of hope. ‘Could it be Justin? Could it be her brothers? Have they finally found me?!’

Intense emotions crashed within her, and tears welled up in her eyes. However, she was under the influence of drugs—her limbs were weak, devoid of any strength, making it impossible for her to struggle out of his embrace.

“A guest?”

Christopher’s face instantly soured. “How many?”

“Just one... a man.”

The tension in Christopher’s heart did not ease upon hearing this.

Before he could respond, a series of heavy footsteps echoed through the hall, unimpeded, as they made their way directly into the dining room.

“Mr. Iverson.” The man’s voice was low and hoarse.

Bella’s heartbeat quickened as she looked over. What she saw was earth-shattering.

Her pupils contracted sharply as she stared unblinkingly at the man’s familiar face—a face deeply etched in her heart. Her heart was pounding heavily inside her chest as her breath quickened.

“Hugh... Hugh!” Bella’s eyes were red, and she cried out with all her might.

If he truly was Hugh, then why did everything about him seem different? His voice, his tone, his eyes... Nothing was the same, but surely she could not be mistaken about this!

Even when Yvonne had surgery to resemble her, there were still subtle differences upon closer inspection. Plastic surgery could not create an exact replica, as every person had their own unique essence. It was impossible to become a perfect copy of a real person. Why did this man have Hugh’s exact face? If this was not Hugh, who else could he be?

“I’ve traveled a long way, and I’m hungry.” Jace casually pulled out a chair by the dining table and sat down without hesitation. “Mr. Iverson, I’m still a guest. You should prepare a fresh meal for me. I don’t eat leftovers.”

Christopher’s eyes darkened as he stiffly ordered the servants. “Go prepare ‘our guest’ a new meal.”

“I hate the sea. I don’t eat fish or seafood,” Jace added.
