The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 2025

The air froze, and it was so quiet they could hear a needle drop.

Christopher looked at his father with a gaze as dark as a wild wolf’s, yet his lips carried a casual hint of a smile. “Dad, it’s just you and me left in the entire Iverson Group. Why beat around the bush? Can’t we just be direct?”

Lance sneered and picked up a document on the table, flinging it at him.

The papers scattered at his feet, and he coldly looked down.

“Christopher, you’ve really done it. The first present you gave me after becoming the CEO is embezzling funds and helping outsiders, huh?”

Lance’s gaze was icy, and he clenched his jaw in anger. “Do you think you’re the only one who benefited from bribing the finance manager to funnel the company’s funds to your offshore account and create a secret fund?

“That old fox was secretly siphoning his share as well. Because of his greed, it enabled me to trace it back to the things you did behind my back! That bastard returned the money and confessed what you secretly ordered him to do!

“He worked for me for decades, yet you’ve already started to dream of using my people for your own benefits after taking office for a few days. You’re not just bold; you’re delusional!”

Christopher did not bother to bend down and pick up the papers. Instead, he stepped on them, turning the papers into wrinkled trash with his polished shoe.

He knew about the finance manager’s wrongdoings but did not care. Christopher only used people with greed. He might not dare to use those without desires.

Unexpectedly, he was caught by Lance.

“So, what do you want to do?” Christopher pushed his glasses and asked with a calm smile.

A surge of anger rushed up Lance’s heart. Was he fearless because there was no going back? How could he still smile at this point?!

“Brat, you’re still my son, and I have some affection for you, so I don’t want to be too cruel. I’ll give you two choices.”

Lance leaned back, finally revealing his aim. “First, you willingly resign, and I won’t tell anyone about your secret fund. Otherwise, don’t blame me for disregarding our relationship. If the prosecution catches wind of this, it will be awkward for your situation. You’ve heavily offended the Thompson family before. Now that a chance to humiliate you has presented itself, Wyatt’s second son will probably be running to arrest you.”

Upon hearing it, Christopher was expressionless, though he secretly clenched his fingers.

“Second, hand over all the shares of Iverson Group you hold, and I’ll let you keep your position as CEO. Choose!”

Without the shares, his position as CEO was merely an empty shell, and Christopher would be a puppet.

Any of the two choices were dead ends. Ha, a father’s love was indeed heavy.

A cold glint flashed across Christopher’s gold-rimmed glasses. He stared at the man in front of him, who was so intent on making his life miserable, and his smile deepened suddenly.

“Dad, are you done showing your cards?”

Lance frowned. “What do you mean?”

“It’s my turn now.”

Christopher held the remote with his right hand, tapping it with his left palm. “Draft a formal statement now and officially announce your retirement for health reasons. Make me the chairman of Iverson Group.”

“You… Ambitious brat... Dream on!” Lance clutched his chest, his body shaking.

“If you don’t agree, I’ll play this video on the big screen outside of Iverson Group’s building now. Not only that, thousands of the Iverson Group’s employees will receive this video by tomorrow morning.”

Lance’s face turned pale, and he reached into his pocket with trembling hands, taking his heart medication.

But because he trembled too much, the medicine bottle dropped on the ground and rolled to a stop at Christopher’s feet.

“Medicine… My medicine…”

Christopher lowered his eyes coldly and picked up the medicine bottle. At this moment, a scene flashed across his mind. He stared at the life-saving medicine in his palm and was in a daze for a while.

Lance roared with a trembling voice at this moment, “Little bastard… Quick… Give me the medicine!”

‘Little bastard.’ Christopher’s pupils contracted, a surging crimson shadow engulfing his vision.

Anyone calling him this name was digging their own grave.

“Dad, you’re really too unfair to me.” Christopher’s pale lips curled up eerily as he put the medicine bottle into his pocket. “As long as you begged me and asked me nicely, you wouldn’t have forced yourself into this corner.”
