"Lucas, do you know what kind of woman Melody is? She behaves differently in front of you. I know you won't believe me, but the fact that I got hurt should be proof enough. I couldn't have done this to myself. So why don't you go ask her what happened!"
There were no cameras in the restroom, so Thalia was confident her lies would not be exposed. She was not afraid of Lucas looking into the matter.
"I'm not saying I don't believe you, but..."
"But what? I've suffered such a serious injury, yet you still don't believe me and choose to believe her! I would've sued her if she wasn't your wife! I want her to know that I'm not so easily bullied!"
Melody was an actress then, so it would be disastrous if she got caught up in a controversy.
Lucas immediately stopped Thalia. "Don't act recklessly! It's different here than in Molomia. Lawsuits can be very troublesome. I promise you I'll look into this matter thoroughly. Just don't make any rash moves until I've got to the bottom of this, understood?"
Thalia smirked coldly. "In the end, you're still looking out for her. Lucas, sometimes I really feel like my sister died in vain. She would've believed me unquestionably if she was still alive! Sob! You and I grew up together. I've known you longer than you've known that woman. It's heartbreaking how you don't trust me at all."
When Thalia was lying on the ground unconscious, Lucas's questioning gaze was enough to suggest that he believed Melody was responsible for everything. That look still sent chills down Melody's spine when she recalled it. She had thought Lucas would trust her unconditionally, but at that moment, she realized she had been too naive.
Melody gently wiped away the tears from her eyes. Lucas had behaved similarly during the previous incidents on the set, even going so far as to put an act for her sake.
Thus, how could he have changed so much in such a short time? It was always easier to go from poverty to wealth, but harder if it was the other way around. After experiencing Lucas' unconditional love and trust, facing his distrust was nothing short of agonizing for Melody.

I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
