The girl quickly took out her phone. "Mister Jeremy, if you don't mind, can we exchange phone numbers?"
…
Corinne was in the taxi when Jeremy called. She looked briefly at the caller ID before answering her phone.
"Where are you?" asked Jeremy in his deep voice.
"I'm in the taxi on my way home," said Corinne neutrally.
"Why didn't you wait for me?" he asked unhappily.
"I didn't want to bother you since you rarely have the time to hang out with your friends."
Jeremy pursed his lips for a few seconds before saying sternly, "Where are you now? I'll go pick you up right away!"
"No, that won't be necessary since I'm almost home. You just have fun, okay? I'm going to hang up now. Bye."
Corinne quickly hung up after that.
After she reached the Holdens' mansion, she immediately questioned herself why she came back there. She chalked it down as her needing some time to collect her thoughts before deciding what to do next.
There were only a few servants on standby in the living room since Greg and Pamela had retired for the night.
As soon as Corinne walked upstairs, she bumped into Francine, who seemed like she had just come out of her room and was about to go downstairs.
"No."
Francine crossed her arms and pouted. "Corinne, I'm not taking sides here, but you should know how hard it is for Jeremy to find time to spend with you. You shouldn't fight with him after all the trouble he had taken to come back here."
Corinne scoffed. "Fine. It's all my fault. But don't worry. Your brother is going to give you a new sister-in-law who's kind and thoughtful soon!"
Francine was speechless. She did not expect Corinne to react like that.
After her little outburst, Corinne ignored Francine and went back into her room.
Francine immediately knew she had misspoken. She scratched her head and was about to apologize to Corinne when Corinne slammed the door in her face.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
