The CEO’S Unplanned Heir novel (Aurelia and Leopold) novel Chapter 1249

Aurelia settled into the couch, her hand resting gently on her rounded belly, “Once Geoffrey is out of the picture, we'll have nothing to worry about. Life will be smooth sailing from here on out.”

Leopold wrapped his arms around her shoulders, “Honey, I'll handle him as soon as possible.”

She leaned into him, her head resting on his shoulder, “Just be careful, okay? He's got a bone to pick with you, not me.”

He stroked her hair tenderly, “Worried about me?”

Her hand found his, “Of course I am. You're my husband, the father of my children. What would we do if something happened to you?”

A smile played on Leopold’s lips, “If something did happen to me, you could always remarry. What else would you do?”

Aurelia shot him a playful glare, “Don’t talk nonsense. I'm only getting married once. I don’t plan on doing it again, so you better take care of yourself. And don’t forget to bring your bodyguard when you go out.”

A strange glint flickered through Leopold’s deep eyes. “Darling, are you growing more fond of me by the day?”

“You're the father of my four kids. How could I not care?”

Leopold gave her a deep, meaningful look, his gaze lingering, “We only have three children, honey.”

Choking her surprise, Aurelia coughed softly, “I didn’t want to leave Liam out.”

“Is it that you didn’t want to leave him out, or is he still alive?” Leopold asked abruptly, causing Aurelia’s hand to jerk in shock, “What are you talking about?”

He didn’t miss her subtle reaction. “Did I scare you?” he asked.

“Not at all.” Aurelia quickly picked up a glass of lemonade from the table, sipping it to maintain her composure.

“Then why are you trembling?” Leopold pressed, not willing to let her off the hook.

She lowered her gaze instinctively, her thick lashes veiling her flickering eyes, “Trembling? It’s quite chilly today, don’t you think?”

“How can it be cold with the heating on? The windows are closed, and it's 26 degrees in here.” Leopold easily exposed her lie.

“I don’t want there to be any rifts between us, so let's not dwell on this topic.”

With that, she slipped out of his grasp and hurried off.

A sharp glint passed through Leopold’s eyes, his suspicions growing thicker.

Meanwhile, the children were in the living room, enjoying some snacks.

Skyler, bopping his head to an imaginary beat, said, “I think Angel is really pregnant because her tummy has gotten so much bigger. Plus, she’s always wearing those loose dresses now, definitely to hide her belly.”

William countered, “Maybe, but Mom could just be putting on weight. She’s been staying at home all the time, and it's normal to gain a few.”

Skyler blinked, “Why isn’t Angel working at the office anymore?”

“Because there’s a lot going on at home right now, so Mom’s taken a break to be a full-time homemaker,” William explained.
