Her smartwatch buzzed on her wrist, a call from Sheryl.

Truth be told, Sheryl had never left and was lurking outside with an eye on things.

I've been barely hanging on. You're my daughter. If you don't help me, who will? Do you want to see your mother destroyed by them?"

"Aunt Aurelia would never do that. You were the one who desecrated graves and that's why the elders banished you."

"They set me up and hired some wizards to trick me into doing it."

"But Ms. Jelena said she won't marry my dad. She already turned down his proposal. Aunt Aurelia doesn't want her to marry dad either."

Sheryl snorted. "Jelena is just trying to spite me because of Joyce. That's why she deserves to die."

Nina sniffled, "And what about Kane? He's just a kid and he never hurt you. He even voted for you at the family council. Why do you want to poison him?"

Sheryl clenched her teeth, "Because he's Aurelia's son. If he doesn't die, he'll come after us one day."

Nina puffed up her cheeks, "I gave it to Ms. Jelena, but she doesn't eat chocolate, so she gave it to Dad, so Dad is dead now."

Sheryl nearly fainted. Was Fredric the man in the ambulance?

"And Aurelia, is she dead?"

Before Sheryl could finish, Nina hung up and turned off her smartwatch.
