"So you're saying that Felicity should just settle for someone who's not worth mentioning?"
"At least not someone from a family as powerful as the Everetts! If she gets treated poorly, how am I supposed to face that?"
Ever since Jeffrey became a father, these thoughts had circled his mind more times than he could count!
When Felicity was still little, he'd hold his daughter and ponder over the "perfect plan".
"Fate isn't something you can arrange, Dad! I think Felicity has her heart set on Langston. It's only a matter of time before they tie the knot."
"But then why wouldn't Felicity tell Langston she's pregnant?"
"..."
Suddenly, the couple locked eyes, both widening them in shock—
"She's not thinking of getting an abortion?!"
Jeffrey couldn't sit still any longer, immediately grabbing his phone to call his daughter.
Karen stopped him.
"As a father, it's not appropriate for you to ask her about this! Let me do it."
Jeffrey handed her the phone without hesitation, "Then you call! Ask her quickly! If she's really going for the procedure, I need to fly out there. I can't let Felicity go to the hospital alone!"
Karen rolled her eyes and took the phone, "If she's really pregnant, then we're talking about my grandchild here!"
This was no small matter.
...
When Karen's call came through, Felicity was in the shower.
Hearing the ringtone, Miles glanced over, saw it wasn't Calvin, and got up to knock on the bathroom door.
"Felicity, your phone's ringing."
From under the shower, she paused to ask, "Who is it?"
"It's Aunt Karen!"
"Oh..."
"Aunt Karen, what did you mean by what you just said? Did Felicity tell you she's pregnant?!"
Karen seemed to struggle for a moment, looking for a way to smooth things over, but the situation was tricky. In the end, she just went with the truth.
"Not exactly, but Felicity asked me today if I knew any good obstetricians, so Mr. Turner and I guessed she might be pregnant..."
"..."
"Langston, are you two back together now?"
Considering the time and that they were still together, not to mention Felicity was showering and had Langston answer the phone, it was pretty clear.
"Yeah." Miles just responded, omitting the part about their one-month deal.
"Then you better ask Felicity why she's looking for an obstetrician! If she really is pregnant, don't let her do anything rash like getting an abortion! It's too damaging to a woman's health!"
"Aunt Karen, don't worry. If she is pregnant, I'll make sure she keeps it, and we'll get married as soon as possible."

Why didn't Jeffrey call Everett from the office? Lock his door instruct security to not let anyone in and speak to Everett on the phone? Or send him a text giving him a quick summary of what's up and that he's on his way over. That way when he runs into Heather on his way out he informs her Everett already knows....
