It had been five years, and Miles had not once made the trip to Angleton to see her.
Yes, it's true.
After the incident, she had indeed fled abroad the very next day.
Miles did call her, even sent messages.
But if what he felt for her was love, the romantic kind, he wouldn't have, he couldn't have waited five years!
The reason Miles sought her out after the incident was simply because his upbringing made him think that as a man, he needed to take responsibility for such matters, nothing more.
Felicity had no intention of chaining someone for life with the word "responsibility."
Miles had always been the center of attention.
Everything about him – his height, looks, status, intelligence – was truly exceptional.
If her mistake led such a man to settle for someone he didn't truly desire, it would be a real shame.
Felicity refused to be that blemish.
"Do you still love him now?" she was asked.
Hesitating for a moment, Felicity shook her head.
"Five years is too long. So long that I've moved on," she said with a smile. "I meant it when I said I plan to find a boyfriend and start dating again after I return to Angleton."
Her friends were all seemingly basking in the glow of love, and Felicity felt she shouldn't waste her youth either.
The past was just that, past. It was time to move forward.
Who knows, she might just meet someone she truly likes!
Felicity wasn't one to dwell on lost causes. She didn't believe that Miles was her only chance at love.
"Felicity," Calvin suddenly said with seriousness.
"Yes?"
"I meant it when I said I want to pursue you, to be my girlfriend," he said with a smile. "Give me a chance?"
...
When Felicity stepped out of her room, Miles was still there, waiting in the hotel lobby!
Thankfully, she came down when she did. Had she been even ten minutes later, he might have come up.
"Langston, you're really not working today?"
If that was the case, would she have to stay single for life, just to nurse him back to health?
"Well, you're asking me, but I don't know either."
Felicity tilted her head, suddenly recalling a friend back in Angleton saying that men react during a kiss.
"Cough, cough... Langston, I have an idea, want to give it a try?"
"What's the idea?"
"Lean in first."
Miles, half-doubting, leaned forward.
As his handsome face drew closer, Felicity closed her eyes and kissed him on the lips—
Before he could react, Felicity's hand ventured toward a certain area.
"Felicity! What are you doing?!"
"Langston, you're hard!"
It seemed this trick really worked wonders!
