Felicity gave him a puzzled look, not quite understanding why he'd suddenly said that to her mom.
Calvin raised an eyebrow, "So you've been hanging out with your brother all this time! No wonder you haven't come looking for me."
"..."
Suddenly, a thought struck her!
Could Miles be... jealous?
Jealous... of her and Calvin.
On the other end of the phone, Karen winked at him, clearly pleased, "So, you three are having dinner together? That's great! Langston, you can keep an eye on Felicity for me, save her dad the worry of her running off with some no-good guy!"
"Oh, mom! Don't start," Felicity grabbed the phone, waving dismissively, "We're eating now, so let's not chat!"
"Alright."
Calvin waved too, "Bye!"
As the video call ended, Felicity looked up to see that Miles, who had been sitting across from her, had now moved to her side.
Now she was sandwiched between two men.
One on each side, the atmosphere was oddly tense.
Soon, the server brought over their fondue pot.
Felicity, lost in thought, hadn't noticed and nearly got splashed.
Calvin instinctively reached out to protect her, but this time, he didn't even touch her clothes!
Miles pulled her into his arms, shielding her tightly with his arm.
Caught off guard, Felicity's forehead bumped into his firm chest.
It was so solid, she could even hear his heartbeat.
"Sorry, sorry!" The server quickly apologized, fearing a complaint.
Miles frowned, "Be careful."
"I'm so sorry for startling your girlfriend. I'll be more careful next time!"
This time, Calvin chuckled, "Bro, you must have been away from Felicity for so long, not even knowing what she likes! Back when we were abroad, she never ate shrimp. She only went for shrimp balls."
Miles's expression darkened, the usual warmth in his demeanor showing cracks.
Indeed, he had been absent from Felicity's life for five years.
Not only was he unaware of her food preferences, but he also didn't know her favorite drinks, hobbies, or habits.
Realizing Miles was clamping his lips shut, probably upset, Felicity quickly reached for the chopsticks, "Who said I don't eat shrimp? I mainly go for shrimp balls because I'm too lazy to peel them!"
Just as her chopsticks were about to touch the large, oily shrimp on the plate, Miles suddenly took the shrimp back—
"Huh?"
"I'll peel it for you."
Felicity was stunned, "But aren't you a germaphobe..."
Those shrimp were covered in spicy oil!
