"What?"
Dorothy was still flabbergasted, completely at a loss.
To be honest, she had started to doubt if Everett had hit his head during the car accident. Why else would he be saying stuff she didn't understand all the time?
"I'll give you some time to think it over. Let's head back to the hotel."
Everett said that and resumed his position in the driver's seat. His words were heavy with a sense of defeat.
Dorothy blinked her eyes. Noticing his hesitation, she finally plucked up the courage to ask, "Mr. Lopez, are you... planning to terminate our contract? You can just say it. I have no objections."
She would even happily support him getting together with Heather!
Everett raised his hand to rub his temples.
Jeffrey Turner was right; Everett had no idea how he got himself into such a mess.
He couldn't understand why he insisted on making life difficult for himself.
...
The car arrived at the hotel.
Kevin and a few assistants were already standing there to welcome them.
They were quite surprised to see the boss coming out from the driver’s side.
"Dorothy, weren't you supposed to pick up our boss?"
Why was the boss driving her instead?
Dorothy gave him an awkward laugh, "Maybe Mr. Lopez feared I'd wreck his car."
Kevin got nothing to say.
Everett took out the luggage from the trunk and walked over to Kevin, "It's too late now; let's have a meeting tomorrow morning. Everyone can go get some rest."
"Sure, Mr. Lopez."
Kevin nodded while giving Dorothy a look indicating that she could leave.
But Everett suddenly ushered his suitcase into her hands.
After a while, Everett came out of the bathroom.
His robe was loosely tied around his waist. He walked over to the bed in a few strides and lay down.
Seeing Dorothy standing still, he furrowed his brows, "Are you not coming over?"
"I am." She quickly walked over to the bed. Only then did she see the large wound on Everett's leg. The skin around it was already becoming black and blue. It looked horrifying.
"Should I call a doctor? I'm afraid I might hurt you more."
"No need. I don't like others touching me."
After speaking, he pulled his robe up a little more, revealing his black briefs. They were tight and fitting perfectly. The outline of his package was clear and bulging.
Everett seemed completely comfortable with this.
On the other hand, Dorothy quickly averted her eyes. Her cheeks were burning as she began applying the ointment on him.
While applying, she suddenly thought of the text Heather had sent her.
She hadn't seen the black briefs when she was packing for Everett last time, so these must be new ones Heather bought for him during their trip!

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Why didn't Jeffrey call Everett from the office? Lock his door instruct security to not let anyone in and speak to Everett on the phone? Or send him a text giving him a quick summary of what's up and that he's on his way over. That way when he runs into Heather on his way out he informs her Everett already knows....
