The Billionaire's Sudden Bride novel Chapter 368

Chapter 368

Brandon’s POV

The moment Summer’s ringtone cut through the boardroom’s formal atmosphere, I felt a chill run down my spine. Everyone at the table paused midsentence, their eyes darting toward me as I reached for my phone.

I answered immediately. Summer?

Nothing. No response from her, but I could hear muffled voices in the background. My wife’s voice, tense and frightened, and another voiceone I recognized instantly.

Victoria.

My jaw clenched as listened, trying to make out what was happening. The voices were distant, like Summer had accidentally called me without realizing it. But what I heard made my blood run cold.

You’re crazy!Summer’s voice, desperate and afraid.

I’ve thought about nothing else for weeks,Victoria’s voice hissed. You don’t deserve any of thisnot Brandon, not Capital Corp, not Grandpa’s love. Nothing!

My expression darkened as I heard more of their exchange. The executives around the table shifted uncomfortably, sensing the sudden change in my demeanor.

Lawrence, who had been in the middle of presenting quarterly projections, cleared his throat. Sir, about the Asian markets-*

I held up my hand sharply, silencing the room. My eyes had turned to ice as I continued to listen, catching fragments of the

confrontation.

make everything look like a natural miscarriage

The words hit me like a physical blow. I stood abruptly, my chair scraping against the floor with a harsh soundmade everyone flinch.

Meeting’s over,I announced, my voice dangerously quiet. Without waiting for a response, I strode toward the door, my movements fluid and purposeful.

James was already on his feet, hurrying to keep pace with me as we exited the boardroom.

Call Desmond,I ordered the moment we were in the hallway. Find out where my wife is. Now.

James nodded, immediately pulling out his phone. Right away, sir.

My fingers were whiteknuckled around my own phone, still trying to hear what was happening. The call was still connected, but the voices had become harder to make out. I caught fragments of Sophie’s voice now, and the sounds of a struggle.

Then, the call dropped.

Fuck!I slammed my fist against the wall, leaving the plaster cracked.

James looked up from his own call, his face grim. Sir, Desmond says he’s at Manhattan General Hospital. Your mother was accompanying Mrs. Stark for a routine checkup today.

My expression grew even darker. And where the hell was Desmond during all this?

He says they were waiting outside while–

Incompetent!. I spat, already moving toward the elevator. Tell him if anything happens to my wife, his life is forfeit.”

The elevator doors opened, and I stepped inside, James following closely.

Sir, Desmond just reported that there’s a situation in the secondfloor women’s restroom. Security has been alerted, and-

My jaw tightened as I hit the parking garage button repeatedly. Get the car ready. And keep trying to reach Desmond.*

As the elevator descended, my mind raced through scenarios, each worse than the last. If Victoria had harmed Summer or our baby in any way

The thought made my blood boil.

I tore through Manhattan traffic, weaving between cars with dangerous precision. My knuckles were white on the steering wheel, my face a mask of cold fury

By the time I reached Manhattan General, the hospital’s second floor had been completely sealed off. I ignored the protests of the front desk staff as I strode toward the elevators, my presence commanding enough that security personnel stepped aside rather than

trying to stop me.

When the elevator doors opened on the second floor, I immediately spotted Sean directing a team of medical professionals. The corridor outside the women’s restroom was chaotic, with security personnel and medical staff moving urgently.

My eyes locked onto Desmond, who stood by the restroom door looking ashenfaced. The security chief’s shirt was stained with bloodnot his own, I realized with growing dread.

Sean looked up as I approached, his professional demeanor briefly giving way to shock as he took in the extent of the situation.

Sophie’s lost a lot of blood,Sean said grimly, gesturing to where paramedics were loading an unconscious v Multiple stab wounds. She needs surgery immediately.

Desmond stepped forward, his expression haunted. Dr. Sullivan, I’m sorry-
