Summer’s POV
Victoria stood there, her once–perfect appearance now disheveled, her eyes wild with hatred. In her hand was a cloth that reeked of chemicals.
I backed away instinctively. “Victoria?”
“Surprised to see me, Summer?” Her voice was eerily calm, but her eyes blazed with fury. “Bet you didn’t expect this.”
I kept backing up until I hit the wall. “What are you doing here? Brandon’s been looking for you.”
She laughed, a hollow sound that echoed off the bathroom tiles. “Of course he has. And it’s all because of you. Everything is because of you! If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be in this situation!”
I noticed her hand tightening around the cloth. My mind racing, I slowly reached for my phone in my pocket, trying to dial without looking.
“Where’s Sophie?” I asked, hoping to distract her.
Victoria’s face contorted with rage. “Sophie? That traitor! I should have known she was your spy all along.”
“What are you talking about? And Grandpa George–was it really you who caused his heart attack?”
“So what if it was?” she snarled. “What kind of grandfather would he be, refusing to give me what was rightfully mine? He said he’d rather give those collectibles to an outsider than to me. Can you believe that?”
I shook my head, genuinely bewildered. “I never tried to take anything from you, Victoria. You’re the one who’s always taken from me–my boyfriend, my parents‘ love, my dignity.”
“You’re lying!” she screamed. “You’ve always been trying to steal my spotlight, my life! And now you’ve even turned Sophie against
me!”
“Where is Sophie?” I demanded again, desperately hoping my phone had connected to someone.
Victoria’s laugh turned maniacal. “Don’t worry about her. Before coming to find you, I already gave her a few stabs. She’s probably bled out by now.”
Horror washed over me. “You’re insane,” I whispered.
Her eyes narrowed as she noticed my hand in my pocket. “Trying to call for help? You think that’ll save you?” She lunged forward. “It’s too late, Summer. You’ve wasted enough time.”
I tried to dodge, but Victoria was faster than I expected. She grabbed my arm, and we struggled as I tried to push her away. Being pregnant made my movements slower, more cautious.
“You’re crazy!” I gasped, fighting to keep the chemical–soaked cloth away from my face. “Victoria, think about what you’re doing!”
“I’ve thought about nothing else for weeks,” she hissed. “You don’t deserve any of this–not Brandon, not Capital Corp, not Grandpa’s love. Nothing!*
My purse fell to the floor, and my phone skidded across the tiles. Victoria saw it and became even more enraged.
“You did call someone!” She pulled out a syringe from her pocket. To bad they won’t get here in time. You know what this is,

Chapter 367
Summer? It’ll make everything look like a natural miscarriage. No one will suspect a thing.”
I felt cold fear grip my heart. Not just for myself, but for my baby. “Victoria, please,” I begged, now genuinely frightened. “Don’t do
this.
“It’s too late for begging.” She advanced toward me, syringe raised. you’d been cooperative, I might have just left your body intact. Now, Summer, it’s time to die!”
She lunged at me, and I grabbed her wrist, desperately trying to keep the needle away from my skin. We struggled, my pregnant state making it harder to maintain my balance. The needle inched closer to my arm.
Just when I thought I couldn’t hold her off any longer, the bathroom door burst open. Sophie staggered in, blood soaking her clothes, her face deathly pale
