Chapter 331
Summer’s POV
William Stark stared at me like I’d grown a second head.
“You… you called Brandon? His voice cracked with surprise, his composure slipping.
I couldn’t help but feel satisfied. For someone who’d orchestrated this kidnapping, he seemed weirdly shocked that I’d contacted my husband,
“Why are you so surprised?” I raised an eyebrow. “When you summoned me here, you must have known Brandon would come!*
The alarm in William’s eyes told me everything. Ife genuinely hadn’t expected me to reach out to Brandon.
“Though Brandon right now is probably-”
The door burst open with a resounding CRACK, slamming against the wall hard enough to make nearby artwork rattle.
Dr. Sean Sullivan stood in the doorway, looking ridiculously casual for someone who’d just kicked in a door worth more than most people’s rent. His hands were tucked into his jacket pockets, wearing that carefree smile that always drove Brandon crazy.
“Hey, there,” he called cheerfully.
“Sean!” I couldn’t hide my relief at seeing him.
Sean stepped into the room, glancing at the damaged door. “I hope Mr. Stark won’t hold this door against me!*
William rose from his chair, his face a mask of fury. “Sean Sullivan! What are you doing here?”
“Oh, nothing much.” Sean shrugged. “Brandon had some business to attend to, so he asked me to look after his wife. Said there’ve been some unsavory characters trying to abduct her lately.” He winked at me. “Isn’t that right, Summer?”
“This is what–the third time he’s had to rescue me?” I fixed William with a pointed look. “Though this time might be a wasted trip. Brandon’s grandfather certainly wouldn’t harm me, would you, Mr. Stark?”
William scoffed coldly.
“So Mr. Stark, you’re saying I absolutely must leave Brandon?”
“Summer, you’re not right for Brandon. If you’re willing to leave him, whatever amount you want…”

“I want ten million dollars,” I cut him off bluntly. “Sir, ten million–are you willing to pay that?”
William’s jaw dropped before his face flushed with anger. “You… you’re quite presumptuous. Ten mi. that price?”
Do you think you’re worth
“Seems like you’re unwilling to pay.” I shrugged. “Or perhaps you think Brandon isn’t worth ten million?”
Whether Brandon is worth it or not, I would never give you anything!”
“You think I’d care about that?” I laughed, though inside I was seething. Compared to Brandon, ten million is nothing. I know which matters more.”

Chapter 331
I took a deep breath, looking William straight in the eye. “Mr. Stark, love Brandon for who he is. Even if he lost everything tomorrow, I wouldn’t leave him. Unless one day he stops loving me, I stop loving him, nobody can separate us–not even you!”
I turned to Sean. “Dr. Sean, coul you please take me back?”
“My car’s right outside,” he confirmed.
“Sullivan!” William’s voice cut through the room. “Think carefully about this. Are you opposing the Stark family? Brandon still doesn’t understand his responsibilities. Are you helping him make mistakes?”
Sean looked perplexed. “I don’t follow, Mr. Stark. Brandon makes, critical decisions in the financial world every day–1 hardly think he’s confused. Besides, I’m just helping Brandon by taking his wife home!
“You… you really insist on being insolent?”
“What exactly do you plan to do?” Sean laughed. “Keep my sister–in–law here? I gather you’ve run out of options?”
Sean stepped forward. The Stark family may be powerful on Wall Street, but don’t underestimate the Sullivans. I may not like getting involved in business matters, but that doesn’t mean our family lacks influence.”
He paused. “You refuse to accept Summer because you think her background isn’t worthy? Don’t you know that Summer is actually part of the Sullivan family?”
William’s eyes widened. “What did you say?”
“In our Sullivan family, we have plenty of men but few women,” Sean continued, straight–faced. “My father’s branch has only me. My mother wanted a daughter but was too frail for another child. So she adopted Summer as her goddaughter.
I nearly did a double–take but kept my face neutral. What was he doing?
“Since you don’t like my sister, I’ll take her home,” Sean declared. “You’re making my mother sad by keeping her daughter away!”
“You can leave, but this woman stays! Don’t fool an old man with a few words. I will never allow her to be with Brandon.”
“Is that so?”
The cold voice made us all turn. Brandon stood in the doorway, his expression glacial.
“Brandon!” My heart leapt at the sight of him.
Brandon surveyed the room. “Disable them,” he commanded.
James and Desmond moved efficiently. Within seconds, William’s security team was neutralized.
Brandon crossed to me, his expression softening. “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” I assured him. “They didn’t hurt me. How did you get here
He tapped my nose. “Didn’t you call me?”
You two, if you’re going to be all lovey–dovey, change venues,” Sean Interrupted. “I came all this way to help.”
“Thanks to Dr. Sean for coming so quickly!” I smiled.
-el Brandon nodded to Sean, then turned to me. “Stay close to Sean.”
