With a blink, Alison came back to her senses and glanced at Alexa. "I'm going home."
"Such a long time has passed. Aunt Alexis will be anxious," she thought.
"Oh, oh, oh, it’s getting late. It's time to go back! Hail a taxi? Or take the bus?"
As she ate the cotton candy, Alexa asked Alison friendly, as if she were not the one who had just shouted at Alison.
"Take the bus."
Alexis gave her money to cover her daily expenses, but Alison didn't want to spend so much money.
Alexa did not object. A ball of cotton candy instantly made her happy so that she seemed to forget why she had come to Alison.
The two of them walked to the bus stop beside them to wait for the bus. Now, more than ten minutes had passed since school was over. Only a few students could be seen at the bus stop.
They two had to take bus No. 1 if they wanted to go back to Moon Bay. The distance between the school and Moon Bay was long. After all, the villa area was far away.
In rush hour, the No. 1 buses ran on a five-minute headway. The two of them only waited three minutes, and the bus came.
The bus was packed with people. Alexa looked delicate. As soon as they got on the
bus, she took Alison toward the back. Only when they had come to the back did she let go of Alison. "A lot of office workers will get on the bus at the next stop. If you stand in the front, you'll be squashed into pies.”
Alison glanced at Alexa with gratitude, but the glance made Alexa feel uneasy. "Hey, what does your glance mean? Don't think too much! Now we're together. If something happens, I'm afraid our teacher will come to me for an explanation!"
"Thank you."
Alison suddenly thanked Alexa softly, preventing her from talking further.
Alexa didn't look so natural, and she looked away, avoiding looking at Alison. "You bought me a ball of cotton candy, but I didn’t say 'thank you' to you."
As she spoke, she bit her cotton candy and whispered, "It tastes very good."
Alison licked her own and responded, "Yes.
She was simply lying. After all, the stick in her hand was bare.
"Oh." Alison responded. The loudspeaker of the bus announced that the bus was arriving at Moon Bay.
The two of them walked to the bus door together. As soon as the bus stopped, Alexa jumped off the bus first and threw the stick into the trash can before she returned to Alison. "Which one do you live in?"
Alison thought for a moment before she answered, "Cl-22."
"I live in Cl-16. Your family's house is diagonally across from my family’s! But why haven't I met you before?"
As she spoke, Alexa suddenly thought of something. "Ah! Cl-22, the house of Alexis Carter the Best Actress. You live in her house? What's your relationship with her?"
"Aunt Alexis adopted me."
"Adopted? You—"
On the way to finish it, Alexis seemed to realize something and covered her mouth, saying, "I didn't mean anything! Don't get me wrong! No wonder, Luis went to you to stop the ball! Alexis Carter the Best Actress and Luis's mother are good friends. You know it, right? Alexis Carter the Best Actress is Luis's aunt! But you said you don't know each other!"
