Scarlett lay in bed and heard Raymond talking on the phone. She didn't want to move. She just lay in bed waiting for him to come in.
It was already after 2:00 pm and it was past lunchtime. Scarlett was starving.
After hanging up the phone, Raymond came in and saw Scarlett wake up. He bent down to kiss her and asked, "Shall I bring the lunch?"
"Let us dine out."
Raymond agreed and helped her get dressed. He then took her hand and took her out.
Scarlett had a good appetite today, and she liked almost every dish put in front of her.
After lunch, Raymond took his coat and led Scarlett downstairs for a walk. After they had digested the food, they lounged on the sofa watching a movie.
More precisely, Raymond just kept Scarlett company.
In the middle of the movie, Alexis called Scarlett, asking her what was going on.
Alexis was not really stupid. She couldn't contact Scarlett for a few days, so she thought and realized that something wrong probably had happened to Scarlett.
Raymond paused the movie on the TV.
Scarlett looked back at him with a smile and then leaned back against his chest. She was not going to tell Alexis what had happened so as not to scare Alexis. "I'm really fine. Why do you have so many things on your mind?"
Alexis grunted. "I haven't heard from you for a few days. I even worried that you had been kidnapped!"
Scarlett had to admit that Alexis guessed quite right.
Scarlett laughed. "Of course not. We live in a society of laws."
"You don’t know that. A star was kidnapped last year. Fortunately, the kidnapper only wanted money!"
After they talked for a few minutes, Justin summoned Alexis, so they hung up.
At that moment, the sun started to set.
Scarlett looked out the window for a while until Raymond's voice rang in her ears. She came to her senses and turned her head to look at him. "I don't feel like watching the movie anymore."
Scarlett stood up and reached out to touch Raymond's face. She stroked the dark circles beneath his eyes, looked at Raymond, and asked smilingly, "Honey, how come you have got the dark circles?"
Scarlett felt tears welling up in her eyes. She wrapped her arms around his neck, buried her head in his shoulder, and drew a deep breath.
They both kept silent. At this time, there was nothing to say.
The sunset outside the window was getting redder. In a long while, Scarlett moved slightly and looked at Raymond with a smile. "You have to restrain yourself for four months.”
Raymond pinched her hand and replied softly, "Okay.”
Scarlett rubbed her head against his neck and asked, "How long will Tiera be
sentenced?"
Raymond's eyes hardened. "At least five years."
Scarlett nodded and felt a bit sad. "It was not worth it."
Tiera might not be able to spend the money even if she could get it.
People should not be too greedy.
