While this was the truth, Scarlett felt a little embarrassed when Viviana brought it up." The exam was easy," Scarlett said.
Viviana then smiled, "You said the same thing as Larry. I wonder if your classmates would be pissed off if they heard you."
Scarlett smiled. She then led her grandfather and Viviana heading for the high school.
The school was still in the same place, but the outlook had changed a lot.
But surprisingly, the elderly guard at the gate was the same one as almost ten years ago.
Scarlett had been an excellent student since she was a little girl. Her teachers and principal used to brag about her a lot. And she was a pretty girl. Even the old guard remembered Scarlett clearly.
The school had strict rules, and no one from outside was allowed to enter the school.
Scarlett thought she couldn't bring her grandfather and Viviana onto campus. But just as they were standing in front of the school taking pictures, the elderly guard approached. The guard asked, "Were you a student here before? I remember you, Scarlett, right? You came first in your exams every year. And the year you took the college entrance exams, you got the highest grade in the city!"
Scarlett smiled, "Yes, I'm Scarlett, Scarlett Reed-
Hearing Scarlett's answer, the old guard seemed to remember something and he became excited, "That’s right! Scarlett Reed! And there was a boy who always ranked the second after you and another pretty girl. The three of you used to hang out together all the time! The other two came back to school the year before last to take their wedding pictures. I was wondering when you would be back!"
The school faculty and staff always remembered the outstanding students, especially for a pretty girl as Scarlett.
The guard remembered Scarlett. Seeing two elders with Scarlett, the guard asked if she was bringing her family to see the school.
Scarlett was honest with the guard. It was true that she hadn’t been back to school for almost ten years. She and Alexis came back once for an anniversary celebration in her sophomore year. After that, she hadn't been back.
When the teacher mentioned Scarlett to her students and told them how excellent Scarlett was, the students didn’t believe her. Now if they saw Scarlett, they would believe the teacher.
"Scarlett, would you like to come to class with me?"
Scarlett glanced at her grandfather. The old man loved to hear praises on Scarlett. He was immediately intrigued by the teacher's words. "Sure, we'd like to see it. I didn't know Scarlett was so good!"
The teacher echoed, "She is! Scarlett is not only famous in our school..."
Then the two walk ahead. Viviana glanced at Scarlett and smiled, "Let’s go. We better keep up with them or your grandfather might stay here all night!"
Scarlett felt embarrassed. She and Viviana hurriedly follow up with the two ahead.
