Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 195

After they left, a man came out of the men's restroom.

It was none other than Harvey.

He silently watched the water in the sink, a pang of sorrow washing over him.

For a project that was going nowhere, Eloise had gone to such lengths. She used to be ambitious, but she never put herself through this. Was it because she had left him, she no longer wanted to rely on anyone?

Harvey took out his phone and dialed Marc's number.

"Marc? It's Harvey."

"Yeah, I saw you earlier. What a pleasant surprise, shall we meet?"

...

Half an hour later, Marc arrived at another private room, at Harvey's invitation.

He was well aware of the relationship between Harvey and Eloise. So, even the project didn't work out today, he had been very polite all along.

Not long after sitting down, Harvey got straight to the point.

"Marc, could you do me a favor for Eloise's project?"

Marc, swirling his glass, found this amusing.

He chuckled, "Harvey, I've never known you to be impulsive. Are old flames hard to extinguish, huh? Since you've asked, I'll be straight with you. I quite like Ms. Laurent,。 She's got a good temperament and work ethic. But I'm not a fan of Mr. Arellano's son. He is too flashy. I heard he's always throwing wild parties, and his private life is too messy."

After saying this, he proposed a toast.

Harvey drank it down.

After emptying the shot of whiskey, he replied with a smile, "Mr. Arellano's son may be young and like to party, but he knows cars. He's the FIA F4 champion. He might not be cut out for other businesses, but he can make this work. And I've researched the client base of Crescendo Sound Workshop. It's high-end, easy to cater to the mid-to-high-end car market."

Marc was still hesitant.

Harvey gave a small smile, "How about this, Marc, go ahead and take the risk. If there are any losses, I'll bear them. In addition, I'll also handle the legal affairs of your company, free of charge."

With that, Marc felt reassured.

He poured another drink for Harvey, teasing, "Well, I'll do this favor for you, Harvey. But you're quite the romantic, huh? Who knew that the stern lawyer had such a soft spot. Isn't this a bit out of character?"

Harvey gave a bitter smile.

He drank the shot once again, showing his respect to Marc.

After finishing, he stared at the empty glass, lost in thought, "I broke her heart. And Marc, don't tell her about this."

It was only after losing her that he realized he couldn't live without her.

Now that Dwight was by her side, he was not without jealousy. He could even see that Eloise treated Dwight like a little brother, probably because she had so few family members around her.

Late into the drunken night.

He was consumed by longing.

As the piano music faded, he couldn't help but dial her number.

When she hung up, he called again, continuing until she could no longer bear it and picked up.

His voice was hoarse, "Eloise, I miss you so much."

He hung up without even waiting for her to respond, or refuse, because he realized he was afraid of her rejecting him, afraid of her saying...

"Harvey, we're nothing to each other now."

"Harvey, it's over."

"Harvey, stop it. It's meaningless."
