Max was decisive and ruthless. In just two days, all of the Laurent family's assets were frozen, including their two properties and the stocks under Eloise's father's name. He was certain that Eloise wouldn't last long!

The court ordered an asset freeze, and Michelle was so furious that she had to be hospitalized. Once she recovered, she rushed to protest at Max's company. However, Max was no longer the man he used to be, so despite Michelle's long protest, she never saw him and almost got hauled away by the police.

It took Eloise a long time to calm Michelle down and return her to the hospital.

Lying in the hospital bed, Michelle was full of worries. "It doesn't matter if we're homeless, but your dad still needs a lot of money to handle the situation. Although Attorney Bowen is an old friend, we should still pay him."

Eloise quietly reassured her, "Okay, I'll figure out the money thing."

Feeling sorry for her, Michelle gave Eloise her bank card, which had over $100,000 she had secretly saved.

Eloise knew this was Michelle's retirement fund. Holding Michelle's bank card, her voice choked. "Then I'll borrow it for now, and later..."

Michelle cut her off, "I have a small apartment in the suburbs. It's a bit old, but at least it's livable. Eloise... you must do everything you can to help your dad win the lawsuit."

Eloise nodded in agreement.

When Michelle was discharged, Eloise settled her in a rented house. This house was in an old neighborhood, only 60 square meters, simply decorated, and couldn't be compared with the high-end residence they used to live in.

Michelle took a look around and decided to stay.

Feeling guilty, Eloise asked Veronica to help her find two part-time jobs.

Veronica didn't agree. "You're already busy with your current job. If you take on a part-time job, can you handle it?"

But Eloise insisted, "I'm fine."

Seeing her difficulty, Veronica found her a job and even lent her savings to Eloise.

Eloise was taken aback. She didn't expect Harvey to talk to her, and after a brief pause, she replied quietly, "Yes, I'm really short on money."

Harvey immediately guessed that this was Max's doing. He didn't particularly care, but his gaze just lightly swept over Eloise's body. Even someone as picky as Harvey had to admit that if Eloise wanted to make money quickly, it would be easy. She was not only beautiful but also had a gentle character, acting like a pitiful little creature when kissing.

No man would dislike a woman of her type!

Her endurance in working such a tough part-time job surprised Harvey.

But he always respected women. He casually nodded his head, looking very gentlemanly.

Eloise knew the conversation was over and quickly entered the ladies' room. When she came out, Harvey had already left, and the beautiful woman who came with him naturally left as well.

Eloise thought, Attorney Horigan was probably going to have a wild night.
