Eloise gently closed her eyes. A wave of severe pain hit her abdomen again. In the midst of that pain, she seemed to hear something shattering.

Looking back, she guessed that was probably the sound of her heart being smashed to pieces.

She adjusted her body. Her gaze was hazy, but full of determination. She said, "Harvey, just leave."

The Griffin Lynch couple expressed their deep gratitude to her, saying to Eloise, "Thanks for being so understanding. You're really a lifesaver."

As Harvey got up to leave, he took off his coat and gave it to Eloise. When that warm coat was placed over Eloise, she suddenly pushed it away.

Harvey was taken aback.

Eloise said softly, "I don't need it."

He chose to be with Joan and left only a piece of clothing. What was that supposed to mean?

Harvey had a temper, and when Eloise publicly rejected him, he was clearly unhappy and his tone became a little stiff, "I'll drive you home later."

Eloise didn't respond to him.

Then it was Eloise's turn at the hospital. She didn't look at him as she got up and left. Her pride wouldn't allow her to beg him anymore. There were so many men in the world. Maybe 99.99% of them were not as good as him, but so what?

What a woman really needed was a man who put her first. No matter how good he was, what was the use if he was always thinking about others?

Eloise, holding herself together, made her way to the examination room, step by painful step.

Harvey stood there, his face not looking so good.

Diana gently urged him, "Harvey, let's go check on Joan."

Griffin hesitated for a moment, but in the end, he took Harvey to the ward.

Inside the emergency room.

The gynecologist, seeing Eloise in such pain, asked, "Where's your boyfriend?"

Eloise felt incredibly embarrassed. She lay on the examination table, the corner of her eyes moist, and said softly, "He doesn't have time."

The gynecologist, experienced as she was, understood immediately. She couldn't help but scold, "He doesn't have time now, but he had time when he wanted to get in your pants?"

The doctor examined Eloise, who was in so much pain that her whole body was convulsing. She had never experienced such pain in her life.

The female doctor looked at Eloise anxiously, then gently covered her up, turned to the nurse and said, "Prepare for surgery. She could have abdominal cavity negative pressure caused by some reason, and her condition is very critical."

Eloise's mind went blank.

The doctor quickly wrote the surgery order, meanwhile scolding, "If it was any later, it might have been life-threatening. Although this is a minor surgery, it's best to have someone with you. Do you have anyone you can contact?"

Eloise gently rubbed her abdomen. The pain came in waves. She looked at the ceiling and said softly, "I'll call my friend."

The doctor looked at her, feeling sorry. It was shocking how that man treated such a beautiful girl and didn't even come to take care of her.

With trembling hands, Eloise called Veronica.

Upon hearing the news, Veronica dressed while cursing, "What the hell is Harvey thinking! He's such a jerk!"

Eloise signed the papers herself and underwent the surgery. Though the surgery was minor, the pain was severe. She endured it, tightly gripping the white hospital sheets. Amid the pain, she seemed to hear Harvey whisper in her ear, "Are you feeling good, Eloise. I feel fantastic."

Eloise turned her face away. Tears streamed down her face without warning.

By the time Veronica arrived, Eloise's surgery was over. Her face was as pale as paper, her body so weak it seemed a gust of wind could blow her over, her legs barely holding her up.

Harvey frowned. He didn't pay any attention to Veronica, instead looking at Eloise behind her.

Eloise was leaning against the wall, her face pale. Her lips were devoid of any color, her body so weak it looked like it would fall with a touch.

Harvey handed the medicine bag to Griffin, then stepped forward to support Eloise. Veronica's eyes were red.

But Eloise gently pushed him away. She wouldn't let him get close, her whole being rejecting him. She took a deep breath and said, "Harvey, we're done. The moment you chose to go see Joan, we were over. From now on, if you're willing to keep helping my dad with his case, I'd be forever grateful. But if not, I guess I'll have to find Max, I think he'll have a way."

Eloise said this, almost using all her strength.

Harvey instinctively wanted to grab her. "If I knew you were having surgery, I wouldn't have left."

Eloise didn't argue. She stood there, mused for a long time before turning her head and said, "Harvey, I used to like you. But now I'm not sure anymore because as an average girl like me, I feel so insecure. All your rules and preferential treatment, me, Eloise, I'm really not worthy of them.

"So we should end this.

"So we shouldn't be hesitatIng anymore."

After Eloise finished, she gave him a light smile, just like a flower blooming on the edge of a cliff. All of this deeply hurt Harvey's heart.

Eloise turned around, assisted by Veronica to walk forward.

Harvey tightly grabbed her arm, his voice tense: "Eloise."

"Let go of me.

"Harvey, we do not have anything to do with each other anymore.

"From now on, I won't like you anymore. So you and Joan can rest easy."
