Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 109

Eloise hadn't seen him for a bit. Wrapped in his arms, a warmth filled her heart.

She gently touched his forehead, and he was still burning up.

Eloise looked down, her lips pulling back slightly.

How did he take care of himself these past few days?

She caressed his face gently, not saying a word, signaling, "I'll go get the thermometer."

Yet, Harvey held her hand tightly, not letting her go. He quickly ended his phone call and started kissing her on the couch.

Eloise turned her face to one side.

Her voice trembling, she said, "Stop that... you're still running a fever."

Harvey was close, so close that he could see the fine hairs on her neck. He looked adorable.

He whispered, "I'm okay! Maybe this way, my fever will go down quicker!"

Eloise disagreed.

She turned her face, her slender fingers caressing his handsome cheek, murmuring, "You're still sick, listen to me, okay?"

Harvey looked down at her.

After a while, he sat up and said, "Make me something light to eat. I still need to go to the office."

Eloise nodded.

She went to the kitchen to wash some vegetables, then made a salad and a sandwich. Before going back to the room, she also picked up the thermometer from the cupboard.

Sure enough, he was still feverish. The thermometer read 38.8 degrees Celsius.

Eloise poured him a glass of water and got him an ibuprofen.

Harvey wasn't keen on taking medicine. Looking at Eloise, he said, "Feed it to me."

He was sick, and Eloise was willing to take care of him, so she held the pill to his lips.

Harvey licked his lips, making them moist. He stared at Eloise as he took his medicine.

Eloise couldn't help but blush.

She coaxed him to drink half a glass of water. Once she saw him feeling a bit better, she went to clean up the kitchen. When she brought the food to the dining room, she found Harvey smoking on the couch.

He was feeling unwell and started coughing after a few puffs.

Eloise took the cigarette from his hand and put it out gently.

Harvey didn't blow up at her. Instead, he leaned back on the couch and lifted his chin, signaling Eloise to feed him.

Eloise was speechless.

She couldn't help but wonder what kind of person could be his partner. His partner would have to put up with his fussy personality. But no matter what, she couldn't resist the current Harvey.

Even when Eloise fed him, he wouldn't sit still.

Eloise patiently fed him the salad. As soon as he finished the last bite, he pulled her onto his lap.

"Harvey... you're still sick." Eloise pushed him away.

Harvey held her chin with one hand and kissed her while his other hand sneakily went under her skirt...

He whispered in her ear with a husky voice, "Don't move, just feel it!"

...

Half an hour later, Eloise was changing in the dressing room. Thinking about what had just happened, she was overjoyed.

It was the first time Harvey had not only cared about his own pleasure but made her feel good too.

"Eloise, are you ready?"

Harvey's hoarse voice came from outside. Eloise didn't dare daydream any longer and quickly got herself together.

In the elevator.

She couldn't help but whisper, "You need rest! Can't your work wait until tomorrow?"

Harvey glanced at her and said, "There's a meeting I need to chair."

Eloise decided not to persuade him anymore. Over-persuasion could be annoying and make her uncomfortable too.

She went to the parking lot on the first floor and got into a white BMW.

She relaxed, and while driving, she started talking to him about her music studio, Encore Soundworks. She couldn't help but mention the difficulty of finding a location, "We'll find the right place! Vanessa has a wide network."

She shared her joy with him.

Harvey had always been patient, which naturally dissolved the minor hiccup before his business trip.

As they got out of the car, Eloise spontaneously asked, "Want me to pick you up this evening?"

Harvey chuckled, responding slowly, "Since when do women chauffeur men around daily? If word got out, wouldn't I be utterly humiliated?"

Eloise didn't argue, only reminding him to take his temperature. "If you're not feeling well, I'll take you to the hospital tomorrow."

Harvey chuckled again, stepping out of the car.

His first order at the law firm wasn't a meeting but calling Denise over.

"Help me check Ms. Laurent's spending history."

Denise paused, guessing that there might be some tension between Mr. Horigan and Ms. Laurent.

She got straight to work, placing the information in front of Harvey within ten minutes, and said, "These are the expenses on your supplementary card. Ms. Laurent hasn't used this card for spending since a week ago."

Harvey asked Denise to leave him alone for a while.

He quietly looked at the bill, then leaned back in his chair.

She refused to use his money, bought her own car, and even planned to start her own business.

This was the decision of a well-bred woman. Harvey never doubted Eloise's character and knew she wasn't overly materialistic.

But he was willing to spend money on Eloise. Even if they were to break up one day, he'd compensate her. What she was doing now wasn't what Harvey wanted!

He wanted their relationship to be simpler.

But Harvey knew Eloise's character. If he didn't respect her feelings, her gentleness, her affectionate gaze, and her care for him would all disappear!

After weighing up the pros and cons, Harvey made a slight concession.

He leaned forward to press the phone button, "Denise, could you come in?"

Denise thought it would be a meeting, but as she entered, she saw Harvey sipping his coffee. He calmly asked, "Do I have any shops about 200 square meters in a prime location?"
