Talented Heiress A Rose with Thorns (Yvette and Wilson) novel Chapter 836

It was the next day, and Yvette and Wilson had come to the hospital.

"Mr. Quinn, Ms. Murray, I've completed a full-body checkup on Mrs. Quinn Senior as per your request, and the results are in," the hospital director said.

Yvette sat lazily on the sofa, her long, straight legs crossed casually. Beside her, Wilson was peeling an orange for her.

"Continue," she said.

The hospital director couldn't help but widen his eyes in surprise at this sight, but he quickly suppressed his astonishment and resumed his report.

"The surgery Ms. Murray performed was a great success. As long as Mrs. Quinn Senior takes good care of herself, there should be no problems. Her health is stable."

Yvette's beautiful eyes narrowed slightly at his words, and she fell into deep thought. If it wasn't a physical issue, then it must be…

"Mr. Quinn, something's wrong!" Samuel rushed in with a look of urgency, interrupting Yvette from her thoughts.

"Mrs. Quinn Senior went up to the rooftop and is threatening to jump… Mr. Quinn, please come quickly!"

"What!"

His words immediately changed the expressions on Yvette and Wilson's faces. Without hesitation, they hurried to the rooftop.

"Don't come any closer, or I'll jump!"

Martha stood on the edge of the rooftop, her frail body trembling. One wrong step, and she would fall—a truly terrifying sight.

"Wilson, you're finally here!" Victoria ran to his side, her face filled with concern. "Please, talk to Mrs. Quinn Senior and get her to come down!"

But Wilson didn't spare her a glance. He ignored her completely as his cold gaze fell on two maids standing nearby.

"You can't even look after Grandma properly? What are you paid to do?"

The intense pressure in his voice nearly suffocated them. The two maids stammered, trembling with fear.

"Mr. Quinn… Mrs. Quinn Senior said she wanted some of the clam chowder from home… She insisted we go back and prepare it for her… We only left for a short while, but then she…"

"Wilson, let's not focus on blaming them now. We need to get Mrs. Quinn Senior to come down quickly. It's too dangerous!" Victoria chimed in at just the right moment, making the maids feel grateful to her.

Unexpectedly, Wilson's cold gaze landed on her, his voice as icy as ever. "Did I give you permission to speak?"

Victoria felt a sudden chill down her spine, a strong sense of fear surfacing within her. Though frustrated that Wilson was treating her this way in front of the maids, she dared not say another word.

"You dislike me so much, so why should I force myself into the Quinn family? Even if I marry into the family, life won't be easy. Why should I endure such suffering? Don't you agree, Grandma?"

While Martha was momentarily distracted, Yvette swiftly moved, too fast to be seen, and pulled her back from the edge.

"Let go of me… Let me go!" Martha finally snapped out of her daze and started struggling.

Yvette's beautiful, fox-like eyes narrowed as she noticed a faint, peculiar scent on Martha. Though the smell was subtle, Yvette's sense of smell was sharper than most, and she picked up on it immediately.

"You don't need to keep threatening to die. I'll keep my promise."

Unperturbed, Yvette released her grip on Martha, her voice steady.

"Today, I'll contact the media and announce the cancellation of my engagement with Wilson."

Did Yvette really know what she was saying?

Hearing these words, Victoria's heart raced with joy, her eyes practically shining with excitement. She barely held back from laughing out loud.

She hadn't expected Yvette to agree so quickly. Victoria had prepared herself for a long battle!

And things had gone so smoothly that it felt almost unbelievable.
