Gary’s speech was short and sweet. It didn’t exceed two minutes. 

Larissa was still in a daze when Lewis nudged her on the shoulder. 

“It’s time to go down.” 

In a hurry, she almost tripped over the hem of her gown. 

Lewis caught her before she fell 

Holding up his fist at his lips, he whispered in a low tone. “Walk elegantly and with dignity.” 

Larissa immediately followed the training she received. 

Lifting the hem of her dress, she held her head high and straightened her back, 

Step by step, she descended the stairs. Larissa maintained a smile as she laced dozens of intense gazes. 

Gary’s eyes were filled with tears as she approached him. 

When Larissa stopped at his side, he offered his arm. She held onto him and scanned the room. 

Most of the guests tonight appeared to be young Caldorians, Larissa couldn’t help but wonder why, Blue Star Shipping was founded and established in Aldovia. Although the company’s partners were likely diverse, most of them should be middle–aged Aldovians. 

Still, in front of everyone, it wasn’t the time and place to ask Gary about this. Instead, she followed Gary’s lead as he led her to the middle 

of the room 

He introduced her. “This is my daughter. Larissa Seymour.” 

Thunderous applause resounded in the room. Everyone had smiles on their laces, but it was unclear whether they were sincere. 

Larissa waved to the crowd and greeted them. “Hello, everyone. I’m Larissa Seymour.” 

After years of hard work, she sounded like a native. Still she had a unique accent that made her pronounce her name differently in Aldovian. It wasn’t jarring. It added a charming touch to it. 

Gary was satisfied with her performance. His eyes were filled with pride as he said, “Blue Star Shipping will be taken over by my daughter in the future. I hope you all can continue to support us.” 

The guests were aware of the reason for this banquet. When they heard his words, they weren’t surprised. 

Larissa managed to recite the script Lewis prepared for her. It expressed her determination to lead Blue Star Shipping to greater heights. Another round of applause followed. 

The lengthy introduction came to an end. Gary brought Larissa to mingle with the crowd. 

The guests came over to toast them with champagne glasses in hand. 

Gary was in a very good mood tonight and did not refuse any of their boasts. 

He downed many glasses of champagne. By the time the banquet was halfway through, Gary seemed quite drunk as he was a lightweight. 

His face was red and his gaze was unfocused. 

Larissa couldn’t help worrying about him. 

“Dad, shall bring you back to your room for a res17 Larissa whispered in his ear. 

Gary waved and spoke in a slurred tone. “The banquet isn’t over yet. There’s no lime to rest!” 

Compared to the start of the banquet, his emotions seemed much more heightened. 

“Here, Lari, Let me introduce you to someone.” He dragged Larissa over to a man who seemed to be around thirty years old. “This is Mike Young, the second son of Power Electronics‘ founder. He is around your age and studied hotel management as well. He has worked at renowned hotel chains around the world. I’m sure you two will have much to talk about
