"How do you know my name? Besides, were we acquainted previously? Who's my wife?" Kevan asked.
Larissa was taken aback at his questions.
She stared intently at Kevan, trying to determine whether he had truly lost his memory or was just pretending to be ignorant.
There was a hint of confusion and a genuine desire for her answers in his eyes.
Larissa averted her gaze and said calmly, "You're the pressure of Microworks Corporation. I had the privilege of meeting you once and remembered your name. It was just a slip of my tongue previously. There's nothing personal between us, and I have no idea who your wife is. I heard that you got married, that's why I was concerned that your wife would misunderstand our relationship."
Wordlessly, Kevan fixed his gaze on her. Larissa couldn't discern whether he believed her words or not.
Feeling guilty, she didn't dare linger any longer. "Anyway, don't follow me anymore!"
With that last warning, she quickened her pace and almost ran home, leaving Kevan in the dust.
It was not until she returned home and locked the front door that her racing heart finally calmed down.
Aster was reading in the living room. When he saw her in such a flustered state, he asked with concern, "Mommy, what's wrong?"
"It's nothing." Larissa gave him a reassuring smile and waved the shopping bag in her hands. "I bought steak and lots of your favorite snacks."
"Yay!" Aster shrieked happily and ran over with his little legs. He grabbed the shopping bag from her and took out the snacks that belonged to him.
Larissa and Wendy rarely let him have snacks, it was only when he fell ill that Larissa gave in.
Once Aster took his snacks, Larissa carried the shopping bag into the kitchen to prepare lunch.
She took out the steak and seasoned it with salt and pepper. Leaving it aside to marinate, she started on other ingredients.
During the process of preparing lunch, her mind was distracted, and all she could think of was Kevan's face.
Not long ago, Dylan told her that he was still lying comatose in the hospital, so she assumed that he would remain that way for the rest of his life.
In the future, Larissa decided to stay far away from him and avoid meeting him whenever possible.
In the evening, Dylan came to Larissa's house.
She wasn't surprised that Dylan knew where she lived. With his abilities, it was as easy as ABC for him to find out such information.
What's more, she had a traitor living in her house.
Two days ago, she walked in on Aster video calling Dylan. Only then did she know that they had continuously been in contact ever since that day at the amusement park.
Of course, they were communicating online behind her back.
Although Larissa was furious with Aster, he was her beloved son. Moreover, he was down with chickenpox and his skin was still covered with blisters.
She couldn't bear to punish him harshly, so she had to turn a blind eye. However, her leniency seemed to only encourage Dylan's audacity.
